With over 2000 exhibitions in the last 25 years, the Italian DJ, producer and bandleader Giorgio Cencetti aka Dj Farrapo has been on the forefront of the Globalbeats and ElectroSwing movements. The solid reputation he earned has brought him to perform in the more important clubs and festivals all over Europe such as Montreux Jazz (CH), Exit Festival (RS) and Beats For Love (CZ). He also toured all over Brazil and performed in some gigs in LA.
Farrapo’s research and production style is influenced by his love of traditional music from all over the world, which he passionately mixes with contemporary dance floor rhythms.
His music has been released by labels like Sony, Wagram, Universal, Verve and Irma rec.
Among his works:
- the 7" of “Swingy Mama" that in 2010 was for 3 months n.1 in the Broken beat/Nu Jazz selling chart of Juno Records, becoming a classic tune of the Electro Swing style;
- the electrobrasil album “Alien Na Favela” (2012, Agogo rec.) named "album of the month" by the public German radio WDR Funkhaus;
- “69 Times & Then One More” in 2016 got included in the OST of the USA tv series Shameless. The track was also in DJ Farrapo’s second album “The Nu Swing Experience” (2017, ChinChin rec.);
- the single "Restless Syndrome" in 2018 reached the first position in the Balearic/Downtempo selling chart of Juno Download;
- He remixed several international artists and bands like funk master “The New Mastersound” (UK) and the Latin Grammy winners “Ojos De Brujos” (SP).
His songs have been played by hundreds of top djs and radios all over the world such as radio RAI 1, RAI 2 (the Italian public national radio and television), the BBC (UK), Radio Educadora 107 FM (BR), Radio Gladys Palmera (SP), RTS (the national Swiss radio/tv) and many more… In 2022:
- the Colombian label Galletas Calientes released his Electrocumbia singles “Papacito” and “El Cabron” (the latter was included in 2 Spotify editorial playlists). For the tune “El Cabron” he self produced and directed his first ever stop motion video clip.
He composed and produced 5 tracks for the ambitious OST of “Cartel Tycoon” video game from tinyBuild.
Currently he started his own music label “WalrusRec” and has different ongoing collaboration projects with Devon Miles, Carlo Maver and others.
