This seventh birthday edition - the label's fifth compilation in total - is another epic, with 28 high quality tracks jostling for your attention. The track listing reflects the label's eclectic but largely dancefloor-focused approach, with highlights including the stomping big room techno darkness of Alan Fitzpatrick and Reset Robot's 'Alpha', the organ-rich New Jersey style peak-time house bump of Lis Sarocca's 'Oasis Floor', the bumpin' speed garage revivalism of 'All The Girls' by Main Phase, the warped, MC-sporting two-step wobble of Killjoy and Kwam's 'Active', and the deep and dreamy breaks/two-step fusion of 'Overcome' by Adam BFD.

Review: Next up on Shall Not Fade is a spellbinding mix from the fast-rising DJ Physical. Inspired by old school techno, Physical gets the selection off to a rousing start with his own acid-soaked "Uranium", before dropping the raucous, noisy banger that is Testpress' "Joemama". The 303 is a common theme throughout this mix, and Ejeca's "Away" features a seamless mix of atmospheric synths and nagging acid lines. The other recurring feature is Physical's affinity with 90s techno, audible on the break beat-led "Silver Lake" and "Overshoot", an epic slice of trance that sounds like an update on the classic Eye Q style.

Review: Silver Lake is DJ Physical aka Loyce Demellier's debut album, and it guides the listener on a high-octane journey through techno and electro. From the atmospheric, emotional acid of "Uranium", into the dramatic bass and string-soaked groove of "Gold Mines", it's clear that DJ Physical has carved out a distinctive style. That's not to suggest that this album lacks variety; as the seductive break beats of "Law Breaker" and the jungle inspired "Stay Forever" both demonstrate, Silver Lake is a diverse affair, but the common bond throughout is DJ Physical's musical approach, which bubbles to the surface on the title track's swirling techno.
