Review: There's a disco-fired breeziness at the heart of this collaboration between soulful house vocalist Marc Evans and veteran Baltimore house producer DJ Pope. It helps, of course, that the track features numerous memorable hooks from "Let's Lovedance Tonight" by Gary's Gang, a stone cold disco classic largely remembered for its incessant electric piano riff and snaking sax lines (both of which make an appearance here). We're particularly enjoying the Sound of Baltimore Vocal, where Evans reminisces about the halcyon days of dance music culture. That said, the slicker, sample-free deep house revisions elsewhere - particularly the chunky "DJ Dub", featuring a spoken list of turntable talents, and beat-free jazz-funk smoothness of the "Alternative Reprise" - are also very good.
