Review: Liquid Brilliants' quest to find the best in drum & bass and liquid funk with a light, soulful touch has led them to release DJ Skill's first solo EP and sweet merciful modulation was it worth the wait. Touching upon the retro sound of late '90s liquid funk while driving forward with intense top-end percussion, "Heavenly Calm" is a wide open soundscape of glittering ocean and endless blue skies. "L Music" switches up the dancefloor appeal with bouncing bass and cheeky electro-esque claps and even a verse comprised of whistling. Definitely a holiday tune. "Spring Jazz" finishes off the selection with dancefloor-driven beats and a swinging jazzy feel. A unique liquid record - not often you can say that.
