DJ Zinc

DJ Zinc, is a London-based DJ and record producer who has carved his name into the history of drum and bass, and beyond. His career, spanning over three decades, is marked by a constant evolution, pushing boundaries and pioneering new styles within the dance music landscape.
Born in 1972, Zinc's passion for music emerged in the early 90s as the hardcore scene flourished. Starting in 1991, he began his radio journey with DJ Swift on London's Impact FM, later moving to Eruption FM and eventually anchoring his own show on Rinse FM.
1995 marked a turning point with the release of "Super Sharp Shooter." This hip-hop infused jungle tune became a defining anthem of the emerging jump-up subgenre, showcasing Zinc's unique blend of influences and production prowess.
Never one to be confined, Zinc continued to explore different sonic territories. He ventured into breakbeat, dabbled in UK garage with the hit "138 Trek," and even incorporated house elements into his sound. This genre-bending approach cemented his reputation as an innovator, unafraid to experiment and defy expectations.
Today, DJ Zinc remains a vital figure in the dance music scene. His influence can be heard in the work of countless producers and DJs, and his commitment to innovation continues to inspire. Whether behind the decks or in the studio, Zinc's relentless pursuit of fresh sounds ensures his position as a true dance music pioneer.
