Review: What a year it has been for the Duploc team, who have continued to strive to push the 140 scene further than ever-before. As always, they have come together to unleash their full 2021 catalogue in one singular monumental drop, unleashing 40 system-smashers for us to enjoy over the Christmas period. Featuring a heavyweight catalogue, we get to explore releases from the likes of Dalek One, ENiGMA Dubz, Tappa, Hebbe, Ternion Sound, Oddkut, Juss B, Distance, Mungk and more. It really is a testament to how strong their movement has become when you look at the strength behind this year's catalogue, with the overarching theme of every contained release being perfect for a system-backed shell out. Review: Over the past few years, there haven't been many labels or dubstep-centric projects who have been able to keep as up to date with the scene as a whole then the legendary Duploc. They came together for this new compilation project with the title 'Identity Of Dubstep', exploring the best of their previous creations. There's no doubting this one's potent tracklisting, which features corkers from the archives with artists such as ENiGMA Dubz, Juss B, SBK, Surreal, Ternion sound, Dalek One & more providing fearsome additions. As this is a compilation to celebrate the full depth of the label's catalogue, we felt it important to highlight tracks that may slip past people, with our favourites including the grizzly LFO expressions of Sweepa's 'The Circle', alongside the wonky rhythms and downright dirty bass designs of Sam Cosmic's 'Stickin Ona Rock', which again explores the more raucous side of the dubstep spectrum. A fantastic anthology of dubstep flavour.

Review: Boy oh boy what a year it has been for the Duploc family, who despite all the madness of 2020 have still kept up their incredible run of consistency, dropping nothing but bangers throughout the duration. This, presumably their final drop of the year sees them pull together a monstrous roster, featuring the likes of Cartridge, BunZer0, Ourman, Opus, Teffa, Sam Cosmic, Xakra and many more to give us one final celebratory look into dubstep in the modern era. The complete track listing is absolutely bonkers to tell you all the truth, with quality leaking out of every single original. Some favourites we have to mention however of course include the sizzling bass designs and spooky textures of Wraz's 'Ghost', alongside the fluttering flute melodies of Mani's 'Secret Forest' and 'Gibberish', a super smooth subby glider from Surreal & Somah.

Review: It is becoming more and more difficult for us to keep pace with the Encrypted Audio rampage as they continue their pretty spectacular run of top quality dubstep drops with another bombshell, this time welcoming fourteen top quality steppers creators inside for a mega compilation. There have been no expenses spared when it comes to the lineup, with the likes of Dalek One, Kodama, Karnage, Zygos, Mungk and many more established faces supplying us with a string of hard hitting dubstep originals. When we take a look at our specifics favourites however, we have to point out the truly lethal sub-bass & reese-bass combinations on DubApe's 'Quick', alongside the glitchy soundscapes of 'Bricked' from Chendah and the super syncopate rhythmic displays of Reamz on 'Devilish'. Awesome work as per!

Review: Well, what a selection we have here as Strictly 140 drop one hell of a compilation project, featuring an array of dubstep heaters under the title of 'The Overseas'. Featuring nine absolute scorchers, this project sees the team showcase some of the hottest names in the 140 scene right now, including WZ, Dalek One, RDG, Gaze Ill, Pharama, Roklem, Sebalo and more. For us there are a couple of very clear standouts from this project, with Subtle Mind's stunning 'Subtle Mind' composition being one of them, alongside the twisted eastern string tones and pulsating subs of 'Nani' from Ourman!

Review: As ever with the Duploc team, they have assembled an EP of pure quality as they invite a cohort of their finest into the fray for the second chapter of 'Duploc Selects'. From the off highlights include the regal horn tones and catchy melodies of 'Cumulus' from Cartridge, before the gnarly bass tones and crispy drum slaps of 'What Are You Saying' land, courtesy of Dalek One. Drumterror also combines sharp drums and chiming patterns in 'Mineral' before Feonix fuses experimental drum arrangements and super-deep sub pressure on 'Lost & Direct', with the glitchy plucks and wavy leads of Ghostek's 'Seek War' putting the icing on the cake. A very strong selection indeed.

Review: Dub Sector have been running riot of late, and this latest compilation from them shows just how crazy it's been, as they bring us thirteen of their finest heaters from the last 12 months, all bundled together into one weighty batch. We hear some absolute dirt from heavyweight names such as Dalek One, Rez and The Widdler, along with some seriously naughty selections from the likes of Kwizma with his sub heavy 'Gravitation' original, and JWiRE's big room smasher 'Amen Ra'. For us, the steaming low end of Lory Kong's 'My House' renders it a serious highlight, along with the colourful bass synths of 'SpaceJail's 'Interstellar'.

Review: Ah, there is nothing better than uncovering a dubstep compilation as potent as this, the second full edition of 'For The Heads'. We see an absolutely wicked line up, including the likes of 1137, Khromi, Roklem, Borg and more. There are some absolute heaters on this one, including the super crunchy bass movements of 'Extended Dub' from Dalek One, along with the minimalist yet metallic LFO drives of Repulsion's 'Cyclone' and Chapman's emotive 'Cry' original. One track stands out above the rest however comes from Pharma's super spooky 'Sshh' laced with enticing triplets to put the cherry on the cake for the whole compilation.

Review: Stark, shuddering sounds abound as Denver's Dalek One delivers one of his broadest, biggest EPs to date. As always with Dalek, deep space and shadows shrouding the elements is the key theme running throughout the collection, allowing surprises to creep out when you least expect them... The throaty bass gurgles on "The Fallen", the incredibly restrained drama on the breakdown of "Torture" the dusty twangs on "Dimensions", the list goes on. There are only a handful of artists doing properly innovative deep dubstep right now; Dalek One is definitely one of them.

Review: Whenever we see a new drop from the Foundation Audio team hit the store we know we are likely to be collecting up a brand new bag of treats, with this brand new helping from Dalek One being exactly that. We begin with the jittering synthetic swipes and eastern-inspired percussive chops of 'Duckin N Divin', a vibrant title track that kicks us off with a sizzle. Next, the mosquito-like lead synth drones of 'Flood Channels' are brought onto display with a reesey backdrop to match, before the pace quickens on 'Last Rights', which gives us a much more organic sounding LFO drip. Finally, 'Wayseed' gives us a tidy combo of shimmering synthetic stutters and clunky drum stumbles, rounding off a thoroughly enjoyable collection of original dubstep flavour.

Review: Silent Motion have struck absolute gold with this latest box of tricks from Dalek One, who unleashes four lethal originals, kicking off with the title track 'Mask & Glock'. This one is a grizzly roller jam-packed with gnarly LFO energy, constantly shifting its energies between different synthesizer sounds to give the whole track a constantly shifting feel, before the stuttered rhythms and organic sounding percussive thwacks of 'Mind Of A Criminal' give us something a little more stripped back. Next, the twisted distortion and speaker-busting bass sounds and grizzly melodic textures of 'Red Dots' give us a lurch towards the unpredictable, before Pharma joins the party on 'Blood' for a super syncopated final dance. The consistency with which Dalek One has been able to pump out bangers in 2021 is nothing short of mindblowing and this would be a fabulous way to round off the year if it proves to be his last release before 2022.

Review: It's official, there is now no stopping the Version Collective rise as they here bring in the always reliable Dalek One for a scorching selection, showcasing his unique take on 140 music. The title track for this one goes by the name of 'Back To The Technical', and is an amalgamation of numerous different industrial bass sounds, stitched together with glitchy precision. This is followed by the crunchy drum switches and roaring synthesizers of 'Leave Em For The Leeches', before the punchy LFO movements of 'Obey' follow swiftly. We then finish up by looking at 'Collapse', another unique piece of dubstep production, filled with original ideas and forward thinking sound design.

Review: It's time to saddle up and strap in as we dive head first into the second edition of Subaltern's heavyweight 'Kaleidoscope' series, championing new school dubstep creations with a real dash of finesse. We begin with the untouchable unpredictability of Dalek One, who unleashes a horde of glitchy tripletted bass stabs, expanding into epic horn-like leads as the track progresses. This leads perfectly into Clearlight's more minimalistic 'Stuck Inside' composition, focussing on hypnotic atmospherics and spooky vocals, before Phossa rolls through with the haunted arrangements of 'Vacant'. Finally, Bisweed rounds this one up in good fashion as the rolling 808's and jittery percussive layers of 'Profround' emerge.

Review: US bass producer Dalek One comes through with some seriously professional constructions, showing the UK fam exactly how it's done in 2017! Up on Encrypted Audio, the producer starts off with the moody, unpredictable flows of "Gone Mad", which fall neatly into the hands of the liquifying "Lid Seeker". "Not Real" drags its rusty, deranged beats along with the help of a murderous web of bass, whereas "Scattered Music" sounds more like machine than man, a cold and calculated bric-a-brac of beats and bass with a sinister edge.

Review: The Dub Sector team have had a very exciting 2019 with a list of top notch releases, topped off by this brand new offering from man of the minute: Dalek One, who arrives on the scene with three original weapons. We begin with an observation of the title track 'Can't Walk', which combines robotic textures and glitchy percussive sounds to create something truly unique, followed by rawcus, electronic tones of the second original: 'Skincrawler. To round everything up, Max Mischief joins the party on collaborative duty as the triplet-style drum structures and minimal melodies of 'Sicim' finish up in style.

Review: There seems to be no stopping Dalek One at the minute, who continues a rampage of top quality releases across a multitude of different platforms, solidifying his name as one of the most consistent dubstep artists out. This EP begins with 'Breakthrough', a glitchy spaced out behemoth of a recording, driven by mammoth bass tones and unusual atmospherics. Next, we dip and dive into the aquatic textures and merky sub-tones of 'Terror Strike', before rounding up the project on the title track itself'. As a recording 'Witchcraft' is truly original, working quirky 8bit risers and bitcrushed basslines. Tasty stuff.

Review: Undeniably one of the hottest forthcomers in the world of deep, dark dubstep is Dalek One. It should genuinely be a criminal act to play this man's music off of anything that isn't a fully-fledged sound-system but we've had to make do. Loping force is the name of the game at 140, and 'Say What' accomplishes this with flair and deserved arrogance, it's bouncing bass stabs edging out over a dystopic backdrop. 'Strike Back' is just pure heaviness, snarling basses and snappy snares turn this into a true dancefloor piece of work. 'Strollin' has a slightly more experimental feel, like an urban cousin of 20/20 that sprays graffiti on trains and sells drugs. Another top-notch EP from Dalek One.

Review: Dalek One's gone got himself a taser and there's a fat stack of trouble for anyone in his path. Zapping and slapping his way through the foggy low-end swamps with a riff so electric and insistently stabby this record should come with a government health warning, once again it's another stone cold, unmitigated banger from Dalek and Dubploc. And that's before we even get to the spacious rumbles and cosmic tendrils of the Mr K collab on the B. Duploc'd and loaded.

Review: Sure State welcomes Denver's Dalek One to its catalogue, and it's becoming clearer by the release what it is that gets these guys going. The producer's two-pronged bass attack is as deep and swampy as anything you're likely to encounter within the dubstep game, with "Trickle" single-handedly managing to amalgamate aspects of industrial and wobble-step into one formidable groove. "Authority" is not exactly any less dark or ferocious and, in fact, the tune successfully leads us down the path of no return, a trip riddled with morphing bass tones and cavernous folds of FX. Little tip for you, right here!

Review: Dalek One, Pushloop and ColtCuts bundle forces for the next single on TRUTH's record label Deep Dark & Dangerous. They come forward with a unique track, entitled as "Desert Merchants", which is largely stuffed with warm and gentle eastern vibes. The high-ends are filling up a dry atmosphere highlighted by mirages. Topping off, the exhausting sub bass leaves the abandoned sandscape left with steaming hot temperatures. Nothing but heat coming from the DDD family as usual. DDD022 is due to release on the 6th of October 2017.
