Decay Time - (4:31) 135 BPM
Review: It's another home run for the ever-ready crew over at Holding Hands, who have once again unearthed a gem of an EP, this time welcoming Danvers inside for a thumping display of breakbeat-driven excellence. We open up with the shuffling drum stutters and moogy, acidic bass action of "Radiate Everything", which plays a perfect title-track role. Next, a more abstract switch up as "Decay Time", focusses on bitcrushed melodies and skippy backdrops, before a more spacious display of acidity is unveiled with "Locker 83". Finally, "Lojic" lands with an earth-shattering crunch of subby pressure, putting the final touches on a very well thought out collection.

Desire EP
Desire (original mix) - (5:59) 120 BPM Hot
Desire (Harry Wolfman remix) - (6:00) 117 BPM
Review: It would be fair to say that Joe Danvers-McCabe is a rising star. Aside from being a member of IG Culture's invite-only Co-Op Presents Selectors Assemble" collective, he's also released impressive EPs on WotNot Music and Monologues Music. This outing on Bristol's badass Boogie Caf? label is pretty darn tasty, too. Check, for example, the eyes-wide-shut vocal samples, cut-up double bass and dusty deep house rhythms of "Desire", the deep house/broken beat fusion of "I Can't Let Him Know" and the similarly inclined wonder that is lo-fi closing cut "Someone To Count On". Also worth a listen is Harry Wolfman's deliciously melodious, positive and drowsy deep house take on opening cut "Desire", which makes an already loved-up track positively rush-inducing.

Review: If Mark Knight and Co. aren't busy enough celebrating Toolroom's big 15 year birthday at present (and its global parties in celebration of it), they've also found enough time for another mandatory volume in their esteemed Ibiza Underground series. With another collection of surefire hits and soon to be anthems that are sure to rock The White Isle this summer - this is all you need right here. A wide range of cuts (50 to be exact) that venture into darker territories come from the likes of New York duo Blondes on the fierce and broken "Quality Of Life" (Struction remix), the surprising addition of Scottish IDM wunderkind Lanark Artefax's "Touch Absence" (Intimidating Stillness mix), Dutch techno-bass merchant Martyn on the futuristic "Feel The Magnetism" and American retrovert Matrixxman on the tunnelling acid trip "Horizon". Rest assured that there's faire more typical of the label like Josh Butler, Franky Rizardo, Rick Wakley and birthday guests Booka Shade. For your convenience, the collection comes as two continuous mixes as well.

Review: To our ears, it was Danvers who delivered the best moment on WotNot Music's recent Dancefloor Sweets Vol 2 EP. Here that label gives the sometime Hoxton FM DJ and fast-rising producer another chance to shine. Naturally, it's one he firmly grasps with both hands, laying down a quartet of contrasting cuts. Check out the breezy synth riffs and punchy, broken house rhythms of "Abraka", the 112 BPM deep house wooziness of "Sense 99", and the garage influenced old school shuffle of drowsy closer "Bodytown". Best of all, though, is "Linx", an inspired fusion of bubbly electronic motifs, Balearic deep house chords, sludgy vocal samples and fizzing jazz drums.

Dancefloor Sweets Vol 2
EVM128 - "Warm 'n' Easy" (feat Oliver Night) - (5:22) 80 BPM Hot
Galactic Ganesh - "Tell Me" - (5:44) 128 BPM
Review: With the Christmas gorging season fast approaching, WotNot Music thinks it's an appropriate time to crack open a second selection box of Dancefloor Sweets. EMV128 kicks things off with the sugary soulfulness of "Warm 'n' Easy", a deliciously rich and tasty fusion of broken beat, future jazz and deep house. Galactic Ganesh impresses with the soft-centred, but hard-boiled electrofunk/house fusion of "Tell Me", before Danvers invites us to unwrap the gooey melodies and popping drum machine hits of "Hoxton 203". The last sweet in the tin comes from Body-san, whose dub-wise fusion of heavy bass, undulating organs and cheery positivity will leave you hungry for more.

Review: London's Danvers is part of the Wotnot music family, has a Monthly show on HoxtonFM and if that was not enough: is one half of Bristol duo Summits. He appears for the Monologues label with They Don't Program Themselves; three servings of quality deep house goodness as displayed on first track "Keep Right On" with its dusty shuffle supported by some soulful, sampled, R&B vocal work. It's a classic deep house featuring emotive elements such as a bouncy bassline, swirling rhodes and a thumping 808 beat on "Blind Method" while the title track is a slowed down and sexy R&B jam which we really enjoyed.

The Fix EP
The Fix - (5:41) 119 BPM
IKYL - (5:41) 121 BPM
Review: Simon Morell's London based imprint throws us another Fine White release, this time courtesy of London's Danvers presenting some dope deep house on the dusty side such as the terrific opener "The Fix", "IKYL" and Terrell" gets more thumpin and funky, that double bass is a nice touch and those vocal cut ups behind smooth Rhodes keys remind us of Motor City Drum Ensemble Raw Cuts series. "Chroma" is the smoothest and most melodic track on here which is great for that Berlin summer open air vibe; yes it will appeal to Money $ex fans.
