Review: Since first surfacing a year or two back, Dark Arts Club has appeared on Mirror Numbers, W&O Street Tracks and Whartone. Here the Bristol-based producer joins LA label Pfeiffer to deliver what could well be his most successful EP to date. He effortlessly hits the ground running via title track "Unbridled Passion In An Electronic World", a sweet fusion of nu-disco and classic piano house sounds rich in simple, loved-up vocals, colourful melodic motifs and fluid, bass heavy bottom end. He opts for a slightly wilder and more experimental approach on "Next To You", when loose, tribal-influenced percussion and druggy arpeggio lines make way for elongated, glassy-eyed ambient style breakdowns, before once again indulging his love of piano motifs on the smile-inducing nu-disco giddiness of "Slow Down Peaceful".
