Subsonic - "Love" - (3:52) 128 BPM
HODA, Eloquin & Dread MC - "Kicks" - (4:37) 128 BPM
Review: One thing we have noticed about the CruCast release model, is that it is perfectly balanced between their more established faces and a constant wave of exciting newcomers. This release pays homage to the first of those options as CruCast roll out the red carpet for an all-star affair as the likes of Skepsis, Darkzy, Bru-C, TS7, Tsuki and more come together for a scorching selection of brazen bassy badness. There are some tasty pieces involved, but the ones that leap out the most have to include Skue-K's colourful rework of Bru-C & D Double's 'Heater', along with a vibrant VIP mix of 'Jungle' from Nu Aspect.

Livsey - "Persia" (VIP) - (5:15) 128 BPM
Review: The CruCast wave continues here as they unveil an absolutely scorching collection of VIP mixes, showcasing their diverse roster and their creativity at the same time. From start to finish this project packs when hell of a punch, reworking some of the most popular CruCast drops into one explosive package, featuring the likes of Cajama, SpaceGat, MPH, Champion, Wittyboy, Dread MC and more. For us, the outstanding recordings on this one have to include the VIP mix of Francois and Louis Benton's 'Foolin', along with the explosive redesign of 'What's Going On' from Pelikann.

Shake The Bass 2
Various
Francois & Louis Benton - "Foolin" - (4:07) 128 BPM
Inkline - "Stuck In" - (4:06) 126 BPM
Wittyboy - "Want Some" - (3:33) 128 BPM
Review: As a label, Crucast have gone from strength to strength, rapidly establishing themselves as one of the premiere platforms for bass music in the UK. This complication marks that out perfectly with an astonishing selection of over 30 original creations, featuring high profile appearances from the likes of Jaguar Skills, Brent Kilner, Pavv, TC4, Inkline, Deadbeat UK and a tonne more. For us the EP highlights the strength in the current UK bass scene, with favourites being Bushbaby & Hadean's long-awaited collaboration release 'Clean Up', the monstrous swinging synths of Tengu's 'Weapon' and of course the wonky wonderings of SaidWho's 'Voices', a truly original compositional idea, focussing on rawcus bass sounds and scattered drum selections.

X5 Dubs - "Drunken Dub" (original mix) - (5:37) 125 BPM

Review: LW Recordings have thrown a serious party on their latest 'Sublime Bass' compilation, collecting together some of the most sought after names in the bass scene for a 25 track tearout. This tenth edition of the release serious sees the likes of X5 Dubs, Sample Junkie, Tengu, Killjoy, Priceless and a tonne of other highly talented producers come together for a real multigenre showcase. Our favourites would have to be the smooth yet grimey collaborative sounds of 'Fractals' from Kareful and LTHL, the futuristic hardcore rolls of Sekt-87's 'Gangster' and of course the violent dubstep flavours of 'Depth' from Sirius.

Review: Has bassline ever been more influential than it is currently across the UK? I think most people would struggle to argue otherwise. To celebrate this, bassline heavyweights DJQ, Jamie Duggan, Skepsis and Darkzy join forces for an allstar compilation album, including a selection of full tracks and exclusive mixes. The full project includes exclusive drops from the likes of Champion, Shanti, DJQ, Flava D, TQD, Preditah, Bushbaby, Darkzy, Bru-C and many more. You are going to struggle to find a more comprehensive bassline selection this year!

Project Allout Records Volume 2
Various
Moony - "At The Top" - (4:53) 126 BPM
Skue-K - "Shape The Future" - (4:16) 128 BPM
Review: Much like squashing a fly with a sledgehammer, Sheffield's Project Allout, counter Bristol's bass supremacy with this mammoth compilation. Yes, the second instalment in their eponymous series boasts a frankly absurd 39 new fresh bass cuts. It may take a while to get through it all, but that's half the fun. Inititial highlights include the speedy claps, fizzy hats and taut wobble vibes of "Manners" by 1Thirty, the horror move trap thrills of "Black Missile" by "Familiar Face" and the voluptuous house bass of Mooney's "At The Top".

Lengerz Volume 2
Various
King Hydra - "Murkers" - (4:42) 126 BPM
Review: Sheffield's Project Allout don't mess about, having developed a reputation for championing all directions in the ways of bass. Every take on that three letter word is important to this label and that's why they cram so many hot jams onto their comps. Basically they're the Ferrero Rocher am-bass-adors and they are really spoiling us with 49(!) lengerz. Highlights include AT's bleepy 8-bit hip-hop groove "Flash Bang", the epic, symphonic trap of Dubzta's "Lord Of War" and the almost disco tech grooves of "Murkers' by King Hydra. All killer, no filler!
