Review: Daso Franke never released an album during his lifetime. He finalized this now posthumous set just weeks before he passed away from cancer last year, and Connaisseur is releasing it "to complete his legacy" at the request of the prolific producer's parents. It would be fair to say that "Daso" is a fitting tribute and includes some of the German's most potent work. As you'd expect, it's a poignant, drowsy and at times melancholic affair, with Franke supplementing his usual dusty deep house and hypnotic, locked-in tech-house cuts with unusual but inspired forays into ambient, ultra-deep electronic pop (see Anouk Visee collaboration "Cotton"), deep and dreamy breakbeat and weightless, intergalactic electronica (the impeccable, heart-aching "My Pony" and "Ecotranse").

Review: Berlin legend Daso is still at it and showing off more to his ever evolving style. "No Lead" is dark cyclical techno, surprisingly in the vein of Stanislav Tolkachev with its gnarly SH-101 style lead and not a high-hat within earshot. Second track "Decide" is a bit more like the old Daso we know: dreamy deep house that is melodic and just made for drifting; you could imagine Lee Burridge playing something like this. Finally the Chymera remix of "No Lead" uses that awesome 101 lead to great effect but turns the track into a dark and journey like Life & Death style track. Nice one!

Review: Reflective of the atmosphere that prevails at party organisers All Day I Dream's daytime events, this collection eschews mushy ambience and plodding deep house in favour of a more sophisticated, adventurous selection. Powel's "Hor" is all abstract percussion and soothing melodies, while Lauren Ritter's "Glass Hours" is a sublime deep techno groove, brittle, beautiful and reminiscent of artists like As One. Meanwhile, Bedouin's "Flight of Birds" sees the compilation veer into mystical territories with wonderfully evocative fiddle playing unraveling over a pulsing groove and bongo drums. On Summer Compilation, All Day I Dream show that down-tempo dance music need not be synonymous with birdsong and dull sax solos.

Cosmic Ride EP
Tide Waves (original mix) - (7:28) 120 BPM
Tide Waves (Daniel Solar & Andi De Luxe remix) - (7:20) 120 BPM
Cosmic Alone (original mix) - (6:24) 120 BPM Hot
Ride Tide (original mix) - (6:56) 120 BPM
Review: Apparently, deep house producer Daso - famed for his outings on Connaisseur Recordings and Still Von Talent - has been looking for an outlet to release the disco side of his work for some time. Here, he finally gets that chance with an EP of shimmering, melodious nu-disco chuggers on Dikso. Opener "Tide Waves" is particularly beautiful, with smothering strings, twinkling keys and bubbling electronics riding a sun-kissed Balearic disco groove. "Cosmic Alone" doffs a cap to Italo whislt retaining Daso's deft nu-disco touch, while standout "Ride Tide" is a Scandolearic disco gem with definite hints of Diskjokke, Blakbelt Andersen and Magnus International. Best of all, though, is Daniel Solar and Andi De Luxe's voluptuous synth-house rework of "Tide Waves".

Review: Collaborations can be a tricky ol thing to get right, often conjured up for the wrong reasons or with results that lean too far to one parties side. It will come as no surprise that Bedrock hit the nail on the head, as here they pitch together Oliver Lieb and Jimmy Van M to form an exciting and dynamic meeting of minds for the launch of a new compilation series. Under the new Audible Suspects guise they unite as one in hand picking some great new music from the likes of; Pele & Findling, Ryan Davis, Thomas Muller, and of course many of their own productions. A genre defying mix of 12 tracks priced at just L5.99.
