Review: Issued on Dirtybird's offshoot, here's a release that captures two distinctly different moods. "El Viento Tropical" oozes good summer vibes. As its title suggests, it sweeps in with steel drums, rum-sozzled muf-fled vocals and infectious Latino funk, all underpinned by a rolling house backing. You can picture it getting played at beach bars across the world. "A Whole Lot" represents the opposite end of the mood spectrum; here, the kicks are tough and are supported by a more menacing vocal and insistent bleeps. It's the flip side to "El Viento Tropical" - package holiday hell served up on a puke-stained platter.
Review: Dallas, Texas' Audiophile XXL follows up a great release by Aaron Jackson last month with a new one by Orange County duo Dillon Nathaniel and Dateless with' The Works EP. First track "On The Flow" is deep and dirty, early evening electro house for freaks with its catchy "get your ass on the floor" vocal refrain really setting the vibe. Next up "The Works" gets much more intense with its massive bassline and razor sharp synth lead working in unison towards pure dancefloor euphoria. "Fight The Power" gets back on the deep electro house tip with Public Enemy samples used intermittently on top of a deep groove and seriously wonky bass. Finally "Super Soaker" is dirty and nasty and should only be allowed for the afterhours with its dark strings and grimy bass with druggy pitch shifted vocals "my bass is like a super soaker, you know what I mean?"

Review: Cr2 Records presents the 2020 edition of Ibiza Underground. which features some of the label's biggest house and techno tracks this year. Getting straight down to business with Abel Ramos & Sansixto's tough rolling "Hola Mi Amor", the deep latin tribal groove of Uner & Coyu's remix of WWW's "Relaxx" and Saved chief Nic Fanciulli's emotive rework of Ito And Star's "Sudoko Kid". Elsehwre, British upstart My Cat Snoop gets deep into the groove on "Yo Mama" (extended mix), Paolo Mojo's tech house epic "Alininha" gets a funked-up perspective by Edu Imbernon, and you might remember when boss man Mark Brown teamed up with Steve Mac on "Bells Of Brighton" a little while back? Well that one gets an uplifting summer reinterpretation by Dutch legend 2000 & One.
Review: It's that time of year again, when deals are made and stars are born in The City Of Magic. In preparation for Miami's Winter Music Conference, Mark Knight & Co. serve up their hit predictions on Toolroom Miami 2019 - accept no substitute! Across a whopping 62 tracks, there's all you need to hear, right here, across the event's five consecutive days and compiled in three continuous mixes, appropriately titled: The Poolside Mix, The Club Mix and rather appropriately The Afterclub Mix. Highlights not limited to: Illyus & Barrientos swingin' diva antics on "Shout", chief Mark Knight with Danny Howard channeling early noughties tech house on the polyrhythmic "You Can Do It Baby", French bass-house hero Shiba San on the super boompty "Crush That" through to legend ATFC on the epic "Strong 2 Survive" (Dario D'Attis extended mix) and Israeli progressive house expert Khen on the slinky and hypnotic "Pecas" (original mix).
