Review: Minimal's very own human beatbox returns! Bay Area legend and Circus Company stalwart Dave Aju serves up his new one "Love In Zero Gravity" where he puts down the microphone for once and lets the music speak for itself on this rough and tumble yet charming deep house cut. Similarly "Aubergine Dream" works some minimalist magic that's sure to work a treat at the afterhours with its arcane and hypnotic elements. Finally, the San Francisco veteran gets funky on the deep and sunkissed groove of "Gatadu" where he finally lends his much lauded voice into the mix.

Review: For the seventh edition of Ostgut Ton?s acclaimed Panorama Bar mix, they have reeled in one of their finest and hard working sectors in the from of ND Baumecker - and it's about time! The Frankfurt native's compilation features a varied selection of moods and grooves, including exclusive tracks from FaltyDL, Gen Ludd and Jinje - as heard on volume one. The second one featured here is where you are treated to British deep house sensation Ross From Friends' trippy yet absolutely evocative "High Energy", Bay Area human beatbox Dave Aju getting into some deeply exotic microhouse on "Wayahed" and Rotterdam based electro heads Duplex delivering the ultra smooth "Isolator".

Review: Hot on the heels of a fine EP for Matthew Herbert's Accidental Jnr imprint, Dave Aju pops up on Circus Company. As usual, the four tracks showcased here are full of imaginative touches and quirky but successful fusions of styles. Opener "Low Dive", for example, sees him lace his fuzzy, soul-flecked vocalizations atop dense, techno-influenced drums and dreamy, stretched-out chords "Always Dive", meanwhile, is a quirky chunk of wonky, bass-heavy broken soul, while "Sides" sees him veer further towards Theo Parrish territory. He successfully dips the tempo on closer "Tell Her Why", serving up a delicious chunk of skewed future soul.

Review: Given that Dave Aju used only sounds from his mouth to create his debut album back in 2008, it comes as no surprise that this release is somewhat unusual. The title track features house and techno staples - flutter-ing strings and tight drums - but Aju slips in other unusual elements like murmured vocals and a rubbery rhythm that sounds like it was fashioned in an elastic band factory. "14324" is a more conventional minimal house track, led by squelchy, micro-beats, but Aju reverts to type on "Rain"; murmuring, pitched down vo-cals swarm around dubby drums as the rushes of wind that signals the start of a storm roll in.

Review: Few deep house labels are quite as consistent as Germany's Room With A View. There's little in the way of following fads, either, just a desire to release high quality deep house from a range of established and little-known artists. This fourth label compilation more than proves our point. Across the 20 tracks, there's little ill-advised filler, just tracks full of seductive grooves and melodic positivity. Predictably, highlights are plentiful, from the hypnotic throb of Taron Trekka's "NennDas" and the joyous, piano-laden blast of Roberto Rodriguez's "Sixth Non Sense", to the spine-tingling soundscapes of Sahin Meyer's "Zulu Beer" and electrofunk-meets-piano house flex of Marlow's "Need U".

Review: San Francisco producer Dave Aju brings some chunky bass and deep, minimal grooves to the label he's most familiar with: Circus Company. "Maybeso" sees the vocals and chords of Aju lost in an aquatic flow of bubbling effects and watery filters, while "Inmahed" opts for something more traditionally house with Rhodes that chime and beats that swing. Aju then adds vocals to the track that sound like a squeaky George Clinton or tongue in cheek Dr Dre album sketch.
