Review: Navi's ODT Muzik (On Dis Ting) returns for the first time since last summer's 'Ghetto Strugglaz Lullaby' with a slew of cuts from the harmonious heavyweight himself David Boomah. It kicks off with 'Warriors', a warm-as-toast skank out by Benny Page that provides plenty of space for vocalists David and Navigator to go toe-to-toe. With a big catchy chorus and empowering lyrics aplenty, it sets us up for the whole series with consciousness and sonic sweetness. Badness!

Review: This fresh single coming from the Jungle Cakes crew has one of the best MC line-ups we've seen in a long time, with Trigga, Boomah, Specimen A and Navigator all coming correct for what is a fresh little roller with an old-school twist. Deekline is on production, and 'Duppy Destroyers' ebbs and flows with a comfortable sense of nonchalance, bassy stabs punctuating its sparse but satisfying percussive line and an overall feeling of ragga influence permeating every second of its playtime. Suitable for carnival season, this one.

Review: V Recordings do some of the best compilations in the business and their brand new Foundation series is a natural recognition of that fact. They're not being hyperbolic with the usage of the term 'Foundation' either, because this is truly an overview of some of the scene's most foundational producers. Old-school Dillinja, Krust, Roni Size and DJ Die, amongst others, make up the roster of acts that formed an integral part of the genre back in the day. The new crew is also represented, however, in the form of L-Side, Think Tonk, Nasza Linez and loads more, all of whom bring some of that V-style heat. Wicked album - one for the heads.

Review: 48 tracks? Asbo you are truly spoiling us. The quality is as high as the quantity too; a selection of Asbo classics and brand new flavours we're taken from smooth silky rolling soul such as Westy's "Making Moves" and jazzy V-style thunder like Savannah's "Glide Away" to hurricane amen depth (Dawn Raid, Gold Dubs & Jinx - "Old Fashioned") and classic mid 90s style jump-up ruffage (Cabin Fever's remix of "Raw Dogs") via warm-as-toast dub soul a la Vinyl Junkie & Sanxion's "Talk Too Much" and Daffy's beautiful "Love Dub". And that's only an eighth of killer cuts on here. Easily one of the best tenners a junglist can invest this month.

"Fade Away" sees him teaming up with Bristol's Rachael E.C at the controls and David Boomah on the mic. As always, David is the star of the show with his distinctive dulcets spreading wise vibes throughout the skank-packed roller. Looking for something a little darker? Look no further than his Sanxion co-piloted stepper "Rolling Ice Cubes". With a heavy twist of 95 in the mix, there's some real head-bending science going on here.

Review: Legendary reggae-influenced producer David Boomah has worked with every top level junglist in the game, from Top Cat, Rebel MC, Shy FX, Potential Badboy to Benni Page and Tenor Fly. Using those jungle flavas to massive advantage in the first instance, there's a jump-up tempo but the feeling is far more focused thanks to a big, solid bassline and Juxci Dnero's slick vocals. Flip it and the feeling is far more wild, bringing together reggae, jungle and hi-energy beats for a tune that's set to make dancefloors explode. Get ready for the heat.

Review: If you know anything about jungle and D&B, you'll know Boomah... Arguably one of the most distinctive vocals in the game, his harmonies are so warm and genuine they pretty much hug you as they fly out of the speakers. Here we find him at his most emphatic and eclectic, covering all bass bases in true style. Highlights include the sprightly summer roller "Spread A Little Love" the classic hardcore rave breaks "Forward Ever" and the gritty, metallic dubstep joint "Unstoppable", but to be honest this is best enjoyed as the full album it's written as: a shiny mirror reflecting the most exciting sounds of bass music's never-ending narrative.
