Review: This is a very promising debut from new German deep house imprint One Step Back Ahead. Their "thing" seems to be the kind of sumptuous, floor-friendly "eyes-wide-shut" deep house that appeals to both serious heads and newcomers. Certainly, there's much to admire in the sultry, minor key chords and hissing cymbals of Alex Bayer's "9 to 5", while David Silver's "Solution" is a lesson in the possibilities of sparse, late night tech-house. There's more touchy-feely strings and effortless deepness from Dynamodyse, while David Goldberg impresses with his "Deep Burnt"-ish "Untitled".
