Review: A second sampler for Ryan Elliott's newly dropped Panorama Bar 06 mix opens with "Take It Slow", a rugged house jam of the finest order from The Oliverwho Factory and proceeds to take in cuts from former label manager Nick Hoppner, Deadbeat, Dettmann and Sushitech mainstay Makam. Individually the standard of these exclusives is remarkably high and it will be interesting to see how Elliott has slotted them all together for the free to download mix. If we had to guess, Deadbeat's superb glistening house burner "Woah" would make an appearance towards the end thanks to his high tempo, whilst Dettmann's swirling layers of ambience on "Light" feel very much like a set opener.

Review: Kenneth Christiansen's revered dub techno institution celebrates fifteen years of trusted innovation on this superb compilation showcasing the label's esteemed roster of legends. Starting out with the always impressive Stephan Laubner aka STL who surprises as always; this time with the haunting yet bittersweet ambient journey "The Ancient Scale". There's more from masters of the old school such as German producer Arovane and his broken low end theory on "Struktur 1", the deeply rooted resonations of XDB's "Latonal" and Fachwerk main man Mike Dehnert's Maurizio inspired "Track Providing Home" being one of our highlights.

Review: Kenneth Christiansen's label celebrates its tenth year in business without any fuss or the whiff of the understated marketing campaigns that underpin some of Echocord's peers. Indeed, it is reasonable to say that the key to the Danish imprint's longevity has been to focus on the deeper, dubbier side of techno, without worrying too much about what all around them are doing. Put simply, Echocord was releasing textured techno for the head and the floor before and after it was trendy to do so. Unsurprisingly, the Echocord Jubilee Compilation manages to capture these two spheres. It opens with the ethereal, wistful "Tides" by Fluxion, which slides into the shantying "My Safe Harbour" by Quantec. By the time that Deadbeat's contribution appears, the tempo has gradually gone up thanks to the Canadian's trademark tribal drums and Onmutu Mechanicks's contribution turns the mood slightly more menacing as "Calyx" marches to the beat of metallic drums and teems with foreboding chords. This being Echocord however, reflective and evocative sensibilities are never too far away, and Luke Hess's "Kratos", although based on clipped drums, boasts breathy, shimmering melodies. Christiansen also proves that he has a keen ear for potential crossover tracks, and Intrusion/Echospace producer Stephen Hitchell's "Fox Convextion", with its pulsing bassline and uplifting hooks, could propel this label into the spotlight that so many lesser, hype-driven labels occupy.

Review: Deadbeat, aka producer Scott Monteith does a neat trick with this two-track release. The A-side "Vampire" is a beautifully layered Minimal tune that shows off Deadbeat's abilities as a producer to the max, using some beautiful ambient atmospherics to conjure up a unique dreamscape. The Vampire Dub on the other hand is a half-speed, 60bpm version of the original that not only captures the unique drum sounds of a bonafide 70's dub-plate, it also makes for an interesting set closer or great transition record too. Fans of minimal tech should be looking forward to getting their teeth stuck in.

Review: Veteran Canadian producer Scott Monteith has been releasing critically acclaimed records since 2000 and has carefully sculpted an idiosyncratic dub-laden sound that is uniquely his own and instantly recognizable. He returns to Visionquest to follow up 2015's Jacks EP. It's another expression in Monteith's singular aesthetic, using a wide array of arsenal within his sonic repertoire here: from the hypnotic tribal trance of "Boom Jack", to more classic expressions in icy and cavernous atmospherics as heard on "Keep On Dancing" which receives a terrific rework by label co-head Shaun Reeves. Monteith then gets back to the program on the raw and mentalist psychedelics of "VQ Infnity Dub".

Review: To celebrate its first anniversary Lempuyang firmly stakes its claim amongst the forefront of deep techno labels with an outrageous line-up consisting of eight of the most respected heads in the business all doing their stuff. Among the highlights are the growling menace of Sa Pa's 'Randomer', Gradient's fizzy, dubbed-up 'Dopamine Rain' wearing its Basic Channel influence on its sleeve, the ghostly rave stabs of Deadbeat's 'Planterwald' among a sea of radioactive white noise and the clear, sculpted linear grooves of 'Growing Pains' by Bluetrain. That said, there's no weak link among the eight cuts and put together into one coherent package it's more than the sum of its parts.

Review: The output on Kenneth Christiansen's sub-label is often as impressive as the releases on its parent - and this is certainly true of Roots. It's the second release by Scott 'Deadbeat' Monteith on Echocord Colour and also marks a change of direction for the Canadian producer. "Put On Your Red Shoes And Trance" is a wiry, tweaked acid-heavy affair that sounds radically different to his usual dub techno style. Similarly, "Just Jackin Around Man" is also unlike the Deadbeat sound. Utilising a pitched-down vocal sample over a driving rhythm, Monteith adds in some rolling kettle drums. The end result is as far removed as possible from Echocord's cavernous signature sound.

Review: Triple Vision pull out all the stops on the ninth Evidence Based edition. Tin Man's expansive 303 sound is to the fore on the aptly-named "Acid Swirls", while representing a more sombre, subdued style is Oscar Mulero's broken beat remake of End Train's "Into The Sun's Maze". Deadbeat drops a high-paced minimal techno groove in the shape of "7th and 33rd", while Triple Vision scores a coup by securing the services of Steve Bicknell - the Lost founder's contribution is the suitably textured and otherworldly "Constant Movement". He's not the only high-profile name to line out for this edition and I Hate Models delivers the rattling, glitchy techno of "Beloved & Damned".
