Review: You're only five years old once, so why not celebrate in style? And here Warrington lad Danny Worrall's disco and re-edits label Masterworks Music do just that, with an anniversary collection packing a whopping 50 back catalogue nuggets. You'll excuse us the full track-by-track, then, but suffice to say that this is the label that helped launch the careers of Dr Packer and Natasha Kitty Katt, both of whom feature here, and with names like Ziggy Phunk, Rayko, Alkalino, Chuggin' Edits and Fabiolous Barker also on bill, you should already have a pretty good idea what to expect. Classy stuff all round, and a great VFM package - here's to five more years!

Review: With the sun finally making its presence felt in the UK, it seems a fitting time for Slightly Transformed to unleash this epic compilation of "Summer Numbers" - cheery, disco-fired chunks of positivity tailor made for al-fresco sets and celebratory shindigs. Featuring a mixture of tried-and-tested re-edits and sample-heavy original compositions, the 19-track set boasts a pleasingly high number of highlights. These include - but are no way limited to - the talkbox-sporting '80s disco/jazz-funk fusion of Shit Hot Soundsystem's "Be With You", the warm and woozy, synth-laden bliss of Chuggin Edits' "Floating", the slow and steady head-nod of Old Chaps wonderfully soulful "Flight With Love" and the fizzing disco rush of Limpdisco's "Gimme Mo". Get To Know's "Music" - a chunky revision of a jazz-funk era dancefloor destroyer by Dayton - is also excellent.

Review: Fingerman's Hot Digits label has now notched up 50 releases. To celebrate this landmark occasion, the man himself has selected 25 of his favourite cuts from the label's rapidly expanding back catalogue. As a showcase for everything that's good about the imprint, it does a bang up job, gleefully jogging between exotic mid-tempo disco and disco-funk (Frank Virgilio, Dr Packer, The funk District), slo-mo disco-acid (Fingerman's tremendous rework of B-Jam's "Sundog"), kaleidoscopic, reworked '80s boogie business (Casual Connection, Melon Bomb, the hard-tweaked filters and heady loop business of Chewy Rubs), tried-and-tested party-starters (Smashed Atoms, Get Down Edits remixing Stephen Richards) and giddy peak-time workouts (Shit Hot Soundsystem, Dave Gerrard, Thomas Maslo, Kiu D). As the old saying goes, this is all killer, no filler.

Review: Having previously released on many of the edit scene's most prolific labels - think Hot Digits, Editorial, Masterworks Music and Disco Fruit - Deelicious attempts to complete a full house by adding Alpaca Edits to his CV. Perhaps the most notable feature of the EP is the subtle variety of the producer's reworks. Contrast, for example, the heavy but swirling disco-house bounce of "Sexy Cream", whose undulating orchestration works in perfect harmony with the producer's chunky new house beats, and the '80s boogie-meets-disco-funk brilliance of synthesizer-heavy opener "Tilt". Those searching for deeper and dreamier vibes should also check the hazy country-disco sweetness of "Dreamer".

Review: Hailing from Leeds, nu-disco producer Deelicious has seen his productions go global due to releases on big international edit labels like Sound Exhibitions, Hot Digits Music and Editorial. Here he appears on Masterworks with new four track EP, Lovers Call. The title track kicks things off with a straight up four-four beat that gently swells into a string laden disco epic, next, "Move On Up" toughens up a slow 70s soul/funk yearner and "You're the One" is built around warm and tender disco house loops. Lastly "Over You" wraps things up nicely with a slick slice of euphoric French Touch-style filtered disco house. Party central.

Review: York might not be the disco capital of the world, but the way the gang at Alpaca Edits carry on it might just as well be! They've been trotting out world class soul, disco and funk edits for a good while now, and here they deliver the second instalment of their compilation in aid of testicular cancer support. There are 15 quality scalpel jobs this time around, with highlights including the rumbling, evening poolside boogie of "I Need A Drink" by Hotmood, the punchy electro-disco of "Head Lights' by Stephen Richards and the white-hot 70s disco rock of "I'm A Man" Pontchartrain.

Review: Reliable jams from a reliable bunch on this reliable compilation from the reliable Deep Sense. Mr Absolutt opens with the P-funky, cosmic number "The Road Club" - perfect for cruising - while Alex Harrington goes a little techier, white noise build up filter house in "Tanlines". FabioLous Barker takes huge inspirations from Ray Parker Jr in his poppy hit "Girls Are More Fun" while Latin guitars are introduced into Situations' "Flying With Wings". Sould Out slows things down in "Feelin' Moody" leaving Delicious to liven things up with a MJ number in "Let's Get Back". Quality productions abound!

Review: Fingerman's Hot Digits imprint has packed in a lot of releases over the past 12 months, as this expansive roundup of the label's second year in business proves. Featuring 27 tracks and a bonus mix by the South Coast dwelling label boss, there's naturally plenty to admire. Highlights include, but are not limited to, the rolling, head-nodding grooves of Eyeco M's "Keeping It To Myself", the killer proto-house throb of "Tonight" by Bad Barbie vs Evil Smarty, the sexy, string-drenched disco loveliness of P-Sol's "Can't You See", LTJ's trumpet-boasting funk bumper "Fat Thing", and the hard-wired, bass-heavy rework of Julia & Company's "Breakin' Down (Sugar Samba)" by Melon Bomb. It is, though, all pretty darn hot.

Review: Lately Leeds' Deelicious has seen his loose and groovy tunes grace the likes of Sound Exhibitions and Disco Fruit. Here he rolls out five sizzling new bangers. The urgent slice of socially conscious funk, "Lonely Town Lonely Street", kicks things off, "Trust Me" incorporates housier filtered loops into the mix and the title track is celebratory slice of disco-pop with some ace bloc-rocking breaks and punk-funk bass work. Elsewhere we enter orbit with the melodramatic sci-fi boogie of "Mechanical Body" and "Change Your Mind" is an amazing example of early underground dance music reconfigured by a 21st century perspective.

Review: With a new year upon us, Tonbe has decided to gather together another selection of highlights from his dependable Disco Fruit imprint. As you might expect, the ten tracks are all "tried and tested" dancefloor destroyers, most of which effortlessly blur the boundaries between original disco and boogie, and more contemporary, house-centric grooves. Highlights are plentiful, from the sinewy strings and breezy beats of Tonbe's "I Feel Energy" and Deelicious' bustling AOR disco rework "Why Did You Do It", to the rubbery slap-bass and spiraling synthesizers of Evil Smarty's stand-out "This Is". Gradient Logic's "Juice", the most recent release on the collection, is also rather fine.

Review: Deelicious has enjoyed an impressive debut year, delivering solid blends of disco, boogie and house for Disco Fruit and Sound Exhibitions. This final release of 2015 contains arguably his strongest collection of tracks yet. Title track "Ridin High" is something of a rich and evocative treat, with jazzy keys, chords, guitars and vocal samples riding a slick deep house groove. "For Your Heart Ache" offers a breezy house take on a sweet old disco rub, while "Too Late" blends samples from what sounds like an '80s R&B/soul cut with jaunty house beats. After a quick trip into filter-heavy disco-house territory ("You Know How"), Fingerman rounds things off by delivering a smoother, more hypnotic house revision of "Ridin High".

Review: Leeds-based Deelicious impressed with his debut EP for Dimitri Ferrari's Sound Exhibitions label, Neon Disco, so naturally hopes are high for this outing on Tonbe's Disco Fruit imprint. Like its' predecessor, This Is That is full of sparkling, sun-kissed disco reworks that perfectly navigate the tricky waters between reverential rearrangement and the heavier demands of 22st century dancefloors. Some familiar favourites get a going over in the shape of "Why Did You Do It" and "I'll Be Around", a lightly tooled-up version of the Spinners' classic of the same name. Elsewhere, he digs deeper in the crates for inspiration, delivering a flute-laden chunk of filter disco-house ("This Is That") and a bright-eyed chunk of celebratory disco ("Tear Drops & Heartache").
