Review: It's been a short while since Four40's name was at the front of the conveyor belt but boy are we glad to see them back in action, as they welcome M.O.B, Moda & Devilman inside for the second collection of 'Get Mad' remixes. First up, ANIMATE delivers an electrifying bassy squelcher, focussing on crunchy LFO runs and a constant pinch of vocal flare, followed by Arc Nade, who gives the track a much quicker overhaul, utilising spacey, nostalgia-inducing pad textures, descending into lethal reese action shortly after. Finally, Arundel arrives for a final synthy rethink, deploying lethal bassline runs and sharpened 4x4 drum designs for one final dash of dancefloor delight. Excellent!
Review: There is no denying that Devilman is a UK legend at this point, having remained active for over a decade putting together legendary vocals across grime, dubstep, D&B and more. He lands here on his home imprint of Sika for a four track project jam packed with energy, kicking off with the heavyweight trap-like arrangement of 'Flawless Victory' alongside Westy. Following this, Yizzy, Fiasqo, Irah & Dubzta join the party for 'Control', a sub-heavy roller, followed by the spacey textures and more laid flows of 'Astonishing' alongside Traumatik & OH91. Finally, Skinzmann arrives on the scene just in time to supply us with a fabulous, chime-driven remix of the title track 'Flawless Victory'.
