Review: While he's continued putting out remixes, re-edits and collaborations, it's been a fair old while since Dicky Trisco put out a solo single. In fact, 'Discoteca' is the long-serving Scottish DJ/producer's first original production to hit stores in six years. He delivers two mixes of his own: a wonderfully mind-altering, Italo disco inspired throb-job (the 'Original Mix', which is like Giorigio Moroder after several gallons of Italian wine), and a J Kriv style 'Disco Mix' that makes fantastic use of a walking bassline and jangling piano stabs. Elsewhere, Hotmood deliver driving 'Remix' and 'Dub' versions based on the 'Disco Mix', and Synth and Soda drops two contrasting mixes: a 'Proto Mix' smothered in gnarled guitar solos and snappy proto-house drums, and a suitably psychedelic, delay and reverb-heavy 'dub in the Field' version.

Review: The third installment of the Paradise Row series reunites regular studio pals Dicky Trisco and Pete Herbert, following the latter's solo missive earlier in the year. Naturally, the three tracks offer cheery, floor-friendly explorations of many of the duo's well-known influences - think Italo-disco, proto-house, dub disco, Balearic and boogie - and it's hard to find fault with any of them. "I Think I Can Feel Something", which sounds like a long lost Paul Simpson production with added freestyle and Balearic disco influences, is arguably the highlight, though the Italo/electrofunk fusion of "Perfecto", and Michael style early Chicago house vibes of "Dance To Love" aren't far behind.

Review: Long-term collaborators Pete Herbert and Dicky Trisco once again join forces, this time for a trio of cuts that mark the first instalment of the Paradise Row series. There's naturally much to admire, from the breezy, Latin-influenced keys, Balearic disco grooves and killer vocal samples of "Hanging Out" (think T-Coy meets Reverso 68), to the eyes-closed warmth, tumbling acoustic guitars and chugging groove of closer "Aperol Sunset". Arguably best of all, though, is "Machine 16", a thrillingly upbeat cut that peppers a chunky Balearic disco groove with killer pianos and sweet, life-affirming guitar licks. If cheery, feelgood disco is your thing, you need Paradise Row Volume 1 in your life.

Review: Brand new nu-disco brand from Brazil, Mareh have already established themselves as sonic connoisseurs with their annual festivals, long before this debut release. NYC don Duncan takes the lead with a stately Italo-referencing groover that builds and builds with analogue insistency, twisting, turning and evolving throughout. Pete Herbert and Dicky Trisco follow on a much funkier flex. A nagging synth hook, loopy guitars and a pertinent sense of disco insistency are all tied together with a bold swing and plenty of party panache. Mareh mercy!

Review: Every now and then we get a faint signal from this Beaten Space Probe, lost in the depths of the nebulous disco cosmos. It usually crackles through on our radio about once a year and is unanimously greeted with whoops of delight and much dancing on our analogue space consoles. This missive contains nine galaxian edits, presumably all peak time bangers on the hottest alien dancefloors. Highlights include the elasticated bass frenzy of "Double Lines", the Kool & The Gang redux "Don't Wanna Dance" and Fingerman's electro-boogie blaster, "Like 2 Baby". Far out!
