Review: The run that we have seen the Foto Sounds unleashing in recent weeks has been extremely impressive to say the least, with this new dubwise experiment from Major Oak and Digid being the latest in a long line of successful switchups. We open up with the rootsy march of 'Tempest Dub', doused in glittering chord delays and engulfing sub textures, before the stuttered rhythmic sweeps and unpredictable melodic stabs of 'Fusion' waltz into view with more mystic energy. This is then sent to the remix-room by 11th Hour, who unveils a much more synthetic sound version, focussing on more metallic bass sounds and sharpened drum textures. Finally, we dive back into the deep with 'Mystery Whiff', a system-rattling riddim, putting the final touches on a very well thought out collection.

Review: Digid is a right old bass jockey, and this new EP for the tenebrous, wobble-friendly DUPLOC is a straight-up kick in the face. That's a good thing, by the way. "The People's War" is dark and murky, a grime-ridden dubstep bullet with a rattling bass and stripped-back drums ready for the killing. "Mash Down" is a dreamier sort of tune, less in your face and more in your mind; Digid proceeds to drop a shattering square bass over sci-fi bleeps and a dubbed-out beat arrangement. Ya dun know!

Review: Danish dub dons Surfase celebrate their 25th release with a walloping 24-track refresh session that brings everyone up to speed on two years of monthly dispatches. All their decorated contributors are present and correct: RDG, G Double, Gaze Ill, Subtle Mind and many more. Highlights include the swooning strings and rattling drums of Server's "Boxing", Subreacher's chest-crushing bass wobbler "The Machine" and RDG's insanity work out "It's All In Your Mind". It's not in your mind, though... This is as real as it gets. Here's to another 25 killer releases.

Review: The last time we heard from Belgium's premier bass peddler Digid, he was getting all Biblical on us. This time round though, he's sticking to a template of deep reggae delivering a seven-track mini album of spaced out dubs. His production skills are fearsome with tracks like the synthy "Silky & Smooth" displaying a gleamingly pristine finish, "Righteous Soldier" incorporating a faint ska influence and the title track having a forward-looking anthemic quality.

Review: Hands up, psalms down, Belgian bass monkey Digid turns to the good book for lesson in authentic, classical tear-up dubstep. The result is a thick, creamy bass-led half-stepper that's led with an effective Spyda-esque vocal sample. Looking for something a little harsher and confrontational? Head for Sukh Knight's more angular, aggressive rendition. Elsewhere Digid provides colour and warmth with "Freedom Horns". A digidub groove peppered with sun-kissed skanks and far-gazing mysticisms, it complements the darkness of the lead track with context and clarity.

Review: For the uninitiated, Low Voltage is the moniker given to a series of sparse, atmospheric deep dubstep releases from the Phantom Hertz label. Here, they offer a neat overview of the series to date, picking 25 of their favourites. For those seeking clandestine, subterranean thrills, it should be essential listening. Opening with the sub-heavy minimalism of Lysergene's "Hammer Fall", Best of Low Voltage flickers between stoned paranoia, spooky intensity and off-kilter bass pressure. Picking highlights is tricky - Reamz's intoxicating "Tapeworm" aside - but there's more than enough goodness to warrant further investigation.
