"Lonely" is a low-slung and funky number; perfect for the warm-up or the late night alike, with a catchy and familiar hook that's sure to work the dancefloor. Review: Midnight Riot bring us a 20-track compilation that certainly can't be faulted on the eclecticism front, with tracks ranging from the boogie nouveau of Ilija Rudman's 'Let This Dream Be Real' to Sirs' fairly self-explanatory 'Turkish Folk', and from the sumptuous soul of Jack Tyson Charles' 'Glory' to BJ Smith's acoustic psych-pop cover of Soul II Soul's 'Keep On Movin''. The southern bar room funk of HP Edits's 'Why Don't You Slide', the smokey soundtrack jazz vibes of Peter Simmons' 'Downtown' and Phoenix's 'Sueno Latino'-ish 'Nature Dance' are three more highlights of a varied and enjoyable collection.

Review: Fabiolous Barker's London-based Ganbatte bring us a second collection of Kraftwerk re-edits/remixes/reworkings, following on the heels of 'Pt 1' a few weeks ago. What we said then still applies: there'll be plenty of Kraftwerk lovers who'll tut, shake their heads and mutter darkly that this should never have happened, but those involved have all made a decent fist of things, so they'll just have to live with it! Barker's 'Computerized Love' is the more radical of two reworks of 'Computer Love' but the standout to our ears is Dim Zach's 'The Super Model', although that's possibly because it's not really that different from the original...

Review: Ganbatte's latest affair may be all-star affair, but Fabiolous Barker rightly takes top billing thanks to delivering two takes on his latest track, "The Expert". He opens the EP with a hybrid electro/disco flavoured "Old Skool Re-Master" full of whispered vocals, crunchy guitars, throbbing synth-bass and tight horn blasts, before returning at the end with a "Funka-Masta-House" version that underpins the music with a head-nodding house style beat. In between you'll find the bouncy, Hi-NRG era Latin disco-house insanity of Dim Zach's "La Habernaro", the dreamy harmony vocals and ear-pleasing nu-disco grooves of Carlos Gatto's "Call It Love" and the alien funk masterclass that is Don Dayglow's "Gotta Say Yes", a suitably throbbing revision of an old Yello favourite.

Review: Following a fine retrospective of "original productions and reworks" earlier in the month, the Rare Wiri label has prepped another killer compilation to help mark the imprint's 10th birthday. This time round, boss man Rayko has gathered together some of the label's most potent re-edits. The quality threshold remains impressively high throughout, with highlights including James Rod's chugging and cheery disco-boogie shuffler "So Easy", the dreamy deep house throb of In Flagranti's loopy version of "Walking In The Rain", the sparkling saccharine soul/jazz-funk flex of Yam Who's revision of "In Your Eyes" and the pulsating Italo-disco/disco-funk fusion of Ziggy Phunk's take on "One Evening". Throw in a clutch of top-notch Rayko re-edits and the result is an essential collection of floor-focused reworks.

Review: Greek producer Dim Zach has been successfully plying his trade as a DJ - and latterly producer - for the best part of three decades. Innocence marks the first appearance on Midnight Riot from the self-styled "Balearic vibes master". He hits the ground running, doffing a cap to the rush-inducing electrofunk-soul of Imagination on dreamy synth-heavy opener "Innocence". In true Balearic fashion, he reaches for the acoustic guitars on tactile, 103 BPM shuffler "Abigail" before gently jogging into sun-kissed nu-disco territory on chiming, Italo-disco influenced bubbler "Do You". Those looking for a more peak-time tempo should head to "Amour Inconditionel", a wonderfully rich and colourful tribute to classic Italian dream house full of whispered female vocals, tumbling chords and looped organ riffs.

"Wish You Are Not A Dream" kicks things off with a warm and textured electro-soul cover a seventies classic. From there we get a an old Hot Chocolate jam remade into 21st century soul-pop gold on "No Lie" and lastly "All The Ways To Love Your Woman" wraps things up with some dreamy, golden vintage boogie.

Review: Dim Zach begun his career way back in 1990, spinning techno in his native Greece. He's also played live around the World with Liebe. These days, though, he's more focused on disco, and here delivers a fine EP of ear-pleasing re-edits for Spain's Rare Wiri. While the tempos of the five edits on Army of Lovers are undeniably on the pitched-down end of the spectrum, he manages to pack in plenty of energy to get dancefloors moving. Highlights include the sensual, sax-laden disco strut of opener "Give It You", the Middle Eastern intoxication of rearranged cosmic disco fave "Egri", the dilated pupils, hazy spoken word vocals and dreamy Balearic shuffle of "Army Of Lovers", and the hazy looseness of "Lullaby" (a tasty rework of the Cure cut of the same name).
