Review: Russian rising star Dimitri Veimar is up next on Tiga's revered Turbo imprint. The label head honcho himself has previously stated Veimar 'is the kind of musical discovery that, were I a religious man, would go to bed and pray for every night.' His new one "Blaze" is a dirty, fuzzy and downright bombastic electro experiment, that is bursting at the seams. Formerly of Moscow, he's now based in Berlin, where he most likely hooked up with another transplant - Wiesbaden's Florian Kupfer - who delivers a typically stripped-back and industrial edged perspective of the track.

Review: If you're in the mood for some sun-kissed sounds tailor-made for sun-kissed pool parties and lazy afternoons on the beach, Future Disco's latest compilation could be just the ticket. You get 18 unmixed tracks for your DJ sets, plus a non-stop mix to help while away the hours while your skin turns a lovely shade of red. Musically, it's a mixture of baggy Balearic disco-pop (Luxxury, Stavanger Hunt and Future Disco's "Another Lifetime", dub disco influenced grooves (Soulwax remixing Tendts, the low slung strut of Lowheads' "Seven Afro Mood"), dreamy deep house sexiness (Henrik Vilard, Moon Boots) and evocative nu-disco haziness (the Italo-influenced thrust of 16BL's ace "You Are High"). More importantly, the quality threshold remains high throughout.

Review: Renate Schallplatten returns with more surefire grooves that perfectly represent their legendary Berlin club. Russian expat in the German capital, Dimitri Veimar, presents the Lazy Trance EP. The title gives away much of its aesthetic. Starting out with the tripped out dark journey track "Rundio" which you could completely imagine yourself losing it to under a strobe light with its droning arpeggiations. There's more quality on the fittingly titled "Lauer Strobe Age remix" where the man from Frankfurt impresses as always. Elsewhere, the banging acid techno of "Lips" is reminiscent of a certain Josh Wink classic (this one's well crazy!) and digital exclusive "MM" is a sexy noir thriller with gloomy vintage machines getting that Comeme/Correspondant vibe happening nicely.

Review: With releases already notched up on Danny Daze's Omnidisc and Renate, the future looks bright for Russian producer Veimar. Certainly, Less Talk won't do his reputation any harm. The title track is a noisy, busy techno track featuring a hypnotic vocal sample buried deep inside its visceral body. "Windsor" opts for a different approach. To begin with, it sees Veimar deliver widescreen break beats that recall old school Detroit techno, but eventually it morphs into a tripped out acid number. On "A8", Veimar continues to explore the 303, this time over a pulsating bass and linear groove, while on "Happy T", like "Windsor" , an atmospheric melody line creeps through the Russian hotshot's dense production.

Review: Clouded Vision boss Matt Walsh's first mix CD, The Clouded Vision Experiment, gained plenty of praise on its 2012 release. Three years on, he's finally got round to putting together a follow-up. As with its predecessor, The Clouded Vision Experiment Level 2 aims to join the dots between bouncy, electro-influenced techno, warehouse-friendly tech-house, glistening nu-disco (see the Eskimo Twins' "Elegy") and hard-to-define, dancefloor-friendly electronica (Richard Norris's "Dim The Lights" being a great example). The unmixed portion of the collection is full of gems, including tracks and remixes from The Hacker, Pulp Disco & The Outcasts (whose P-funk goes-acid banger "3.142" stands out) and the brilliantly named Forty Fingers Dynamo.
