Greece 2000 (Martin Brodin re-rub) - (6:50) 117 BPM
Played by: Martin Brodin, ERIK RUG
Review: Martin Brodin specialises in super-classy re-edits of fairly identifiable classics. Here though he really lets his creative license run wild on "Greece 2000", a glorious summer breeze of synth-washed, snow-washed melodic electro-house that, if we didn't know any better (we don't!), sounds more like an original production to us.

Such A Good Feeling (Martin Brodin Rerub) - (5:44) 120 BPM
Such A Good Feeling (Jarle Bruthen Refix) - (7:52) 123 BPM Hot
Review: Martin Brodin continues to sharpen his knife with unity and unicity on this release. Eschewing the usual beard-strokey obscurities and picking stone-cold classics is a dark art and only commendable when done as creatively as these twists on the Brothers In Rhythm classic. First up is Martin with a proper piano-slamming Balearic beauty. Next up is fellow Scando Jarle Brathen with a headier, late '90s tech-charged rendition. Both give an entirely new lease of life to a classic every raver will chow down on. Such a good feeling!

Cassa De X (Martin Brodin dish deep edit) - (8:59) 123 BPM
Played by: Weedyman
Review: For the sixth installment of his Disco For The People series, Martin Brodin has chosen to eschew disco altogether. Instead, he's mined the vaults of his house collection and decided to revisit a relative obscurity from 1994: Elastic Reality's "Cassa De X". Brodin appears to have re-edited and reworked Deep Dish's brilliantly loose deep house remix, bringing it bang up to date via some new drums, well-placed sound effects and excellent use of the original chords and vocal samples. You could definitely describe it as "wide-eyed", and Brodin's version contains a little more electronic tweakery to appeal to nu-disco DJs.

Josephine (Chris Coco edit) - (6:41) 110 BPM Hot
Josephine (Dalminjo edit) - (5:21) 118 BPM
Review: In comparison to today's genre, looks and youth-obsessed musical climate, the 1980s seem bizarre - a time when a middle aged blues guitarist who looks like he owns a chip shop (Chris Rea) could accidently make uber-hip Balearic anthems. But back then that kind of thing happened all the time. Here we get two reworks of Rea's Ibiza classic "Josephine" - Chris Coco steps up first to delivering an ice-cool FM synth-heavy killer of a version, whilst Dalmijo goes for a retro, dancing on Spanish holiday restaurant tables, disco stomper!

Someone New (A Copycat & Martin Brodin edit) - (5:18) 100 BPM
Someone New (Cemetary remix) - (9:32) 110 BPM Hot
Review: As the Disco For The People moniker suggests, producer Martin Brodin likes to share the love. Here, for his latest edit he welcomes in A Copycat to help present "Someone New": a moody slo-mo arpeggiated stomper. Not stopping there, Cemetery is then invited to work his magic, resulting in almost ten minutes of sumptuous, linear proggy disco. Far out.

Vienna Calling (Jarle Brathen 2013 re:fix) - (7:14) 120 BPM Hot
Review: Falco was a weird figure in pop culture. Hailing from Austria, he looked like an '80s drug baron and made slightly ridiculous Europop. He also had an unlikely obsession with rap and had a good case in claiming to be the first 'white rapper'. Here Swedish houser Martin Brodin re-edits Falco's mid-80s anthem "Vienna Calling' although there' so little left of the original, we're having to assume that that's what it is. Either way what we're left with is a deliciously sumptuous slice of synth-wash Italo Disco and a perkier version by Jarle Brathan.

Music Sounds Better With You (Martin Brodin re rub) - (6:33) 116 BPM Hot
Music Vs The Bomb (Rayko edit) - (6:39) 118 BPM
Review: Swedish house mogul Martin Brodin develops his edit series with two more consummately executed reversions. Taking Stardust's 1998 disco house classic "Music Sounds Better Than You", he gives it two new leases of life. The re-rub adds a touch of deep house sophistication thanks to its well-arranged synth textures while "Music Vs The Bomb" adds another classic into the mix by way of The Bucketheads. Both guarantee rapturous responses.

Bostich (A Fonky Copycat remix) - (6:04) 121 BPM
Bostich (A Copycat remix) - (6:36) 120 BPM
Review: Some of the original electronic dance records from the early '80s still sound so ahead of their time that they never stop influencing new generations. "Bostich", the sizzling 1981 electro-disco anthem by bonkers Swiss act Yello is one such classic. With its raw arpeggiated bassline, rolling drums and moody atmospherics, this tune will forever fire people's imaginations and here MB Edits provide a few new modern rejigs of it. Martin Brodin simplifies things by stripping the tune back to basics whilst A Copycat provides both a poppier take and a 'fonkier', percussion-heavy version too.
