Review: DJ Savage has been releasing music since the mid-90s, and his long and storied background shines through as he opens the account for new label Pleistocene Future. "Reformed" is a dense, looped affair, powered by razor sharp percussion and murky beats, while on "Trauma", Savage presents a different approach to 90s techno. Centred on pile-driving percussion and one-note loops that are interspersed with filtered stabs, it's a dynamic interpretation of the sound. "Rejected" meanwhile, sees him deploy urgent chords over an angular, steely rhythm, while the veteran producer rounds off the release with the gained kicks and relentless percussion of "Restructured".
