Together is a great example of why as a crack team of new generation talents and serious OGs collide for this special Moondance collection. Updates and new retro flavours galore as the likes of Danny Byrd goes stunningly loco on Acen's 'Trip To The Moon', Benny Page tears Shades Of Rhythm a new one on 'Sound Of Eden' and Dope Ammo, DJ Rap and Jasmine Knight team up for the rush-inducing 'Together'. Elsewhere Ray Keith takes us back to his 96 'Dark Soldier' era with his recent breakbeat assault 'Back In The Day', hardcore heroes Liquid and Billy Bunter lock horns on the euphoric 'Dove Removal Machine' while rising ravesmiths Origin8 & Propa close the EP with an update on their swaggering, stabby breakbeat banger 'Massive'. Review: Fresh off the factory floor from Dope Ammo and Mix Ten, How Did It Go Down starts with an original number (feat. Jasmine Knight on vocals) and moves rapidly into a series of top class remixes that all build on the original in one way or another. Dope Ammo and Mix Ten's rendition is far from outclassed, however, and the pair have channelled the history of 170 to produce a roller that's both soft in the high ends and destructive in the lows, and we especially love the breadth of its bassline; a proper wallower. Jamie S23, of Drum & Bass Arena fame, steps up and cuts up, a percussive masterpiece that sets a new groove and injects a heady dose of bouncing brevity. Max Baker flips into it a liquid number, AN chops things into jungle sized pieces, and Sublow HZ adds a jug of jump-up energy. Wicked stuff.

Delivered throughout the year, this is the full collection and it takes Ammo's broad sound to the furthest possible places. Ranging from Kleu's gritty distorted take on "Old Times" to the Audiomission's piano-tickled purring steppy twist on "Take Me Back" by way of some of Ammo's own refixes like the sick tempo flexing on the Indian-flavoured "Repent" and turbo-growls of "Risky Business", these remixes don't just reflect the range of the original album but boost it even further.

As always, the selection digs deep across the board to include classics, absolute bangers that have been criminally forgotten and no less than 10 exclusives made strictly for this album. From the sun-kissed soul and key-tickling evangelist jam "Salvation" to the absolute rave carnage of "What's Going Down", the boys have gone in on this collection maintaining its still spotless reputation as one of the most consistent and prolific mix series available in the genre. Pay close attention to the Jukebox Jungle track, too. This needs your loving.

The Audiomission remix of 'Take Me Back' is probably the biggest on the release and has a wonderfully curving bassline that blends and moves with a real feeling of power, if you've heard many other tunes by this man you'll know what we're talking about. The Sublow HZ remix of 'Stir It Up' is lovely and funky yet packs a ferocious jungle bassline on the drop that'll leave you heaving for more. Wicked stuff.

Once again it's packed with promising talent: Levela shows his most soulful side with the skank-kissed "Badman Inna My Ends", Blackley brings the dancefloor riff on "How We Get Down" to life in a whole new epic way, Brain Brainstorm beefs up "Flying" while Exile brings the whole package to an emotional ending with a super-groan bassline twist on "Wishin' On A Star". Influential.

The Ed Solo remix of 'Bablyon Falling' is probably the biggest on the release and has a wonderfully curving bassline that blends and moves with a real feeling of power, if you've heard many other tunes by this man you'll know what we're talking about. The Benny Page remix of 'Saturday' is lovely and funky and the EP is finished off nicely by the solid weightiness of Dope Ammo's own remix of 'Repent'. Another good release from the Dope Ammo camp.

Review: The unique sound of Dope Ammo is back for Influence 3, featuring a whole host of vocal talent and guest producers. Their special sound is exemplified by the first track, 'Wishing On a Star', which transitions perfectly from a floating, soulful vocal into a hard-hitting stepper with a rumbling reece bass. 'Oldtimes' is similar, with a funky vocal matched by an even funkier synth line that'll remind you of the Brookes Brothers or Danny Byrd. One of the most unique tunes is 'Babylon Falling', a downtempo number that oozes soul and funk from the vocals and packs a sick Motown feel into ever crevice. 'Flying' is another good downtempo tune, as is 'Im Good', but the quality on the D&B is what'll keep you listening and 'Badman Inna Ends' with Redders is arguable the best - powerful stuff.
