Review: Following in the footsteps of fellow countrymen Camo & Krooked, Dossa & Locuzzed run a fine line in precision balanced D&B where funk and pop glitz are kept in-check with expert production and weight. With their guitars, velvet synths and big juicy hooks both "Only Way" and "Electric Boogie" give sexy winks at C&K's Zeitgeist material while establishing the duo's own signature: the former could easily be a radio hit while the latter smacks hard with a gurgling bass/kick groove. Before massaging your soul with the warmest, wettest synth breakdown Viper have championed so far this year. Big.

Review: Two of several premium Belgian exports in recent times, Dossa & Locuzzed return to Viper with another fresh take on the D&B sound. Combining a jump-up energy and pace with silkier synth-funk styles, they're developing a real signature to their work. "Dance" wriggles with a rainbow of disco glitches and spring bassline with a style that nods sweetly at fellow countrymen Camo & Krooked but in their own sprightly way. The brilliantly-titled "Shag" flips the trip with a silky synth intro and a Hazard-level bass riff that nags hard. Brilliant.

Review: New Year doesn't officially kick off until Viper smack you silly with their yearly "Drum & Bass Annual". 2017's edition smacks even harder than usual with no less than 10 exclusives including a Culture Shock/Dimension style roll out from Misfit, Halflight's "Communication Failure" that has enough power to cause a civil war and North Base's "Woman" that has so much seductive soul power to cause a mess in your trousers. Elsewhere The Voss & NC-17 pay respect to the Book Of The Bad on "Mojave" and Blaine Stranger sends you off to cosmoses unknown on "By Your Side". Review: Having danced and shagged us to smithereens in the latter half of 2016, Viper's on-point Austrian duo Dossa & Locuzzed return with two more unique cuts; "Stoned Love" hits with an infectious clipped arrangement that's souled out by swooning synths and a purring vocal while "Larry" celebrates one of the world's most underrated men's names with a delicious air of ravaged disco. Smooth in instrumentation, savage in the bass, it's the sound of a young act really digging into their sound and having fun with it. Don't sleep on this one.

Review: Austrian duo Dossa & Locuzzed are back on Viper for their first single in a short while and, once again, their unique style of funk influenced dancefloor D&B goes down like a glass of aged red wine. 'Fuse' is the first, a synth-heavy riot all the way through and a tune that combines simple funkiness with an intricate sense of dancefloor construction, each step forward bringing a new form of energy and force. 'Shake' is slightly less manic but no less excellent, its swelling synths of glitchy soul punch and cut up and down the range with an unprecise precision that lends it ample character. Another quality single from the boys.

Review: Dossa & Locuzzed are an Austrian talent who emerged a couple years back with their trademark combination of funked-up synth sounds and devastating bass riffs. Their music is grounded in melodies yet packs a naughty dancefloor edge and this is clear from this single, coming out on their home label of Viper Recordings. 'C'mon Feet' opens with that same melodic style yet devolves into a fiery punch of rolling basses and jazzy sample flicks, its aggressiveness offset by a smoother side. The VIP of 'Love Blind' featuring BMotion is cut from a similar cloth, chopped up vocals and a soothing mix of synths in the intro but bassline nastiness on the drop, this time more in-line with Viper dancefloor tradition yet not less aggressive for it. Top stuff.

Review: Dossa & Locuzzed are the funk duo from Austria and if you've ever caught their 'Funky Fridays' podcast series, you'll know that these two don't mess about when it comes to funkiness. Their talent comes in an ability to synthesise the original funk sound with the synth-based badassery of 21st Century D&B, an ability that's on full display here. 'Off Course' is the highlight, a movement-packed and deeply energetic number which cleverly uses space to inject a serious amount of funk into the arrangement. The flip is similar but darker, with a more full-throttled approach to getting people moving.

Review: 2019 has been another exceptional year for drum & bass albums and Dossa & Locuzzed's three-years-in-the-making debut is a great example of this. One of Viper's most diverse and full spectrum spanning acts right now, their style and skills are showcased in glorious technicolour over 14 tracks. From the silky synths and soulful vocals of the opener "Blinded" to the immense warmth and funk of the closing finale "Sandbox", the album leaves no sonic stone unturned as the Austrian duo really dig deep into their sound and influences. Highlights include the already massive bassline thumper "Get Nasty", the big disco walloper "Tha Bird" (with the one and only DK Marky) and the wriggling futuristic groove workout "Brainfunk"... Review: Viper have been smashing things over on the dancefloor side of the scene for decades and a big part of that is their yearly annual, a compilation which celebrates some of the best releases from the year. One of the best pics of the annual without a doubt is the Annix remix of Pulsation by Mefjus & Insideinfo, a big task for the duo to take on considering how relentlessly classic the original is. But Annix have smashed it with their drawn-out and suspenseful jump uptake, one which sucks all the air out of the room and then releases it as a smorgasbord of warped out energy and choppy force. There are tonnes of other great picks here too, including from new blood Millbrook and others.
