Review: Minimize to maximize: two Dispatch lifers NC-17 and Dub Head go toe to toe on this exceptional pair of chunky bruisers. 'Open Fire' takes the lead with an icy sense of timeless futurism that's underpinned with a rudeboy swing in the bass department. Sitting somewhere between Breakage and C4C, this is one of those bubblers that really hits a lot of spots. 'Minimal Or Lazy' continues this underground vibe but with more a grumpy, techy edge that nods towards the Virus school of sound. Max vibes.

Review: If you've been trying to get in touch with Dub Head lately, now is your chance to link. He's picking up a 'Missed Call' and it's all for you. As always with Dub Head, especially on Dispatch, the whole EP is stripped-back and rumbling with underground prowess. The title track purrs like a tiger ready to pounce, 'In My Mind' is all about that XXL sub while 'Soulseek' brings a little soundclashy flavour into the mix. Review: Once again, the crew behind The Sauce Recordings have decided to deliver us a box of festival ready selections, welcoming five D&B heavyweights inside for a sumptuous display of original high tempo energy. We open up with the chilling horn sweeps and big room bass drops of Zero-T's 'On The M.I.C', a fragrant explosion of junglist juice, followed by both the unusual rhythmic switch ups of 'Sweet Chilli'. From Genic & Tracker, and the system-rumbling sub designs of 'Burnt Toast' from Objectiv. The high octane adventure then comes to a close with a look at 'Your Style', a bulbous roller, taking minimal percussion and lethal bass booms to round off the project in style.

Review: Hello! DLR's Sofa Sound returns to the 'Sofa King Sick' series for a brand new chapter comprising 19 cuts from some of the brightest young minds and established talents across the jungle D&B spectrum. As always with the Sofa gang the vibe is warm, raw and very groove focused and the whole album is loaded with stark, dark contemporary treats. Highlights include the stern grit and drama of Submotive's 'Snowed In', the brazen futurism and moodiness of 'Uppin' The Ante' from Ill Truth, Defex and Bluejay and the siren-raising hype and soundsystem ruffage of 'Live Till 86' from ZeroZero. Review: Sofa Sound specialises in raw percussive power and stripped back, barebones vibes that are best experienced in a dingy, packed out basement. Those are the only environments in which the utter dirtiness of DLR's curation properly hits you, dirtiness like that offered up by the Ukrainian Dub Head on this stellar single. 'Jelly Fish' is classic Sofa Sound, with a funky yet powerful drum line that skips and sslides through a murky undercurrent of basses, constructed with a groaning, wobbling sense of intent. 'Bass Face' is aptly named and you can expect to be pulling one when you hear its jagged edges and cutting, biting progression. More excellence from the Bristolian label.

Review: Getting you to more places than the Docklands Light Railway ever could, DLR takes his Sofa around the world and stops off at the homes and studios of some of the most exciting new generation artists. Every direction you check its severe roller situation as each participant step up with their finest. Highlights include the outlandish grizzles of Submarine & Scepticz's "Shingoki", the hair raising wriggles and flabby funk on Ill Truth on "Catch A Break", the infectious steppy late 90s buzzes of bossman DLR and Script's "El Mosquito" and the lush jazzy flurries of Trex's "Falling Down"... but that's just scratching the surface, the whole Sofa king thing is immense.

Review: For this electric two track, Dub Head joins forces with Worm Sofa Sound to great effect as he brings two heavily percussive twists to the table. We begin with the extremely subtle reese textures of 'Meltdown' which glisten in and around the mix amidst a showering of haunted arpeggios, sharp drum processing and expanding bass patterns. On the flip side we are given the more stripped back landscaping of 'Space', which through its more minimal texture allows the crispy rice cymbals and siren like leaf synth sounds to apparate amongst the mix, providing some spicy flavours.
