Review: Barry Ashworth and his band of merrymakers return with their ninth studio album. Shooting from the hip with swaggering ill behaviour, with a strong presence from fellow breaks OGs Freestylers and renowned and decorated singers Natty Campbell, Cheshire Cat, Top Cat (plus many other collaborators) their big party sounds remains consistent with everything they've delivered over the last 25 years... Intoxicated, high energy and refusal to sit still. Highlights include the big D&B swing of 'Soundboy Killa' (which tips its hat heavily at their original Cyclone sound) the easy-vibe reggae buzz of 'If You Ever Get A Draw', the heated jungle flavours of 'Spitfire' and the super toasty spirit of 'Nah Give It Up'. Review: The unstoppable Dub Pistols return to their own Sunday Best with some much needed nu-school dub-rocking, carrying through the heritage of everyone from The Clash to Jimmy Cliff. While this is perhaps not the sort of gun-slinging dancehall that you'd expect these days, it is a magnificent doorway into the world of dub, for the younger listeners out there.
