Review: Dustin Zahn returns to Blueprint to deliver a four-tracker that resounds to understated force. "Rotator" is an atmospheric, rolling track. Led by dense, tribal drums and featuring mysterious synth lines, it's a subtle but impactful track. "Conduit of Chaos" is based on a similar premise - although on this occasion, the rhythm is more stripped back and is powered by impactful claps. The pulsating, clanging bass at the heart of "Catharsis" lends it the requisite punch for its flowing groove. The title track is the most up-tempo track on the release - and it sees Zahn deliver a gradually building, vocal-sampling percussive sucker punch.

Review: Dustin Zahn follows his recent Feed the Fire release on Rekids with his second artist album. As befits a producer who has been making techno for close to two decades, this is a diverse, expertly weighted work. Both "Tell Me About Paradise" and "Lucid Dreams" are insistent, firing grooves that resound to steely percussion, and blasts of Midwest synths. Meanwhile "Tangie Groove" is a looped house track and "Smoking In Silence" sees Zahn go farther down this route, as vocal samples are melded with insistent stabs. "Days Like These" draws on Detroit techno influences with Zahn deploying spaced out pads over rickety drums, while in sharp contrast, "Shark Rodeo" is a slamming peak-time affair, led by wave upon wave of filters.

Review: Dustin Zahn is releasing an artist album on Rekids, and ahead of that event, he drops this incendiary EP. The title track is a driving slice of analogue techno whose roots lie in the 90s Midwest sound. While "Heresy" also centres on a raw rhythm, on this occasion the style is less intense, with Zahn dropping a series of hypnotic bleeps over rough kicks. The US producer returns to a more intense approach for "Profane Purposes"; there, insistent acid blips and repetitive vocal snatches unfold over a jarring backing track. In contrast, "Golden Hour" is deeper and more mysterious, with a tapestry of eerie synths bringing the release to an esoteric finale.

Review: As part of its 25-year celebrations, Blueprint invites Dustin Zahn to make his debut on the label. Control pushes in many different directions. The title track is a loose tribal groove that resounds to clanging percussion and rolling drums, while on "Studio 5/4" the veteran US producer creates a throbbing groove as the basis to deploy a cacophony of buzzing, noisy synths. Changing tact again, Zahn moves into stripped back territories for the loopy rhythm and insistent stabs of "Wet, Hot Heat", while on "Rising Tides", a dense, stepping rhythm and insistent, Sleeparchive-style tones complete this exemplary release.

Review: Arts label owner Emmanuel teams up with veteran producer Dustin Zahn for this resolutely underground EP. Emmanuel's "Bethide" starts the release in tough mode, with gritty kicks and dense, clicking percussion providing a funky but utilitarian sound. On "Visible Invisible", he veers into a deeper but gloomy direction, as bleak synths unfold over a pumping rhythm. It's a marvellously moody affair. This split release also finds Zahn in uncompromising form; the tribal "Submit Yourself" unfolds to belching acid lines and looped vocal snatches, while on "Eternity's Edge", he lets broken beats and rolling filters provide the basis for dreamy but dark chords.

Review: It's fair to say that this release has been a labour of love. Five years in the making, label owner Emmanuel has chosen a collection of tracks from his dream team of techno producers. This means that ASC's breathy ambience "Stasis" sits beside deep, at times acid -soaked pulsing rhythms from Boston 168, Unbalance and Forward Strategy Group as well as peak-time rollers from emerging artists like Cleric and industrial bangers courtesy of scene veterans like Dustin Zahn. While the inclusion of producers such as Subjected and the fast rising I Hate Models is sure to put increased focus on this compilation, its real, lasting value are the more cerebral contributions such as Emmanuel's own "Bridge of Quietness".

Review: Dustin Zahn has been flying the flag for uncompromising techno for the past 20 years, so it is somewhat surprising to see him appear on Rekids. The title track is typical Zahn: cruising along at 130bpm, it sees him marry tough drums with a repetitive riff. "Decorum", which is of a similar tempo, resounds to churning chords and pile-driving percussion. Meanwhile on "Nameless Midnight", the US producer pushes the tempo up further, but adds some extra intrigue with an instinct vocal loop playing out over a wiry rhythm and mysterious bass tones. Rounding off what is an unusual but welcome release for Matt Edwards label is "Subtle Flex", a chord-heavy affair that features a more stepping rhythm than the preceding tracks.
