Review: The Siamese imprint is owned by the Swiss production and DJ duo known as Adriatique. For their next release they have got in the British DJ, producer and label owner Ed Davenport (Infrastructure New York, Counterchange) for this great mini-album including four club tracks and two interludes. The slow burning late night tech house groove of "Festnetz" gets things off to an impressive start, allowing the next track "For You" to draw the listener into a trance on this deep hypnotic techno cut. There's some deep and slinky tech house for early evening mood lighting on "Rain" while the 14 minute long epic "Inner Senser" channels the retro vibe of early nineties UK bleep techno on this soulful and evocative journey. Following up their wonderful Siamese Anthology compilation and a release by Italian legends Bruscagin & Visnadi, this label continues to do great things.

Review: Ed Davenport sure is on a roll right now. The Berlin based Brit, besides co-running Infrastructure with Function, has had a consistent run of killer releases including this new one for The Drifter's Maeve. Davenport sure finds a fitting home; as the label specialises more in dark journey tracks and deep house, he can do that sound anyway. "Silver Walks" is tunnelling and melodic with its flattering arpeggio and intricate and restrained rhythm that will appeal to a wide cross-range of DJs. "Kuromaku" is yet another epic journey with a razor sharp melody and noisy, static percussion giving way to sonar bleeps and sure to cause many a headrush on the dance floor this Spring.

Review: Given the title, we were expecting Ed Davenport's latest to offer a late night fusion of dark, Twili-era NYC pump and classic Yorkshire deep house. We were half right. In its original form, "New Yorkshire" is a tribute to the late 90s/early noughties house sound of New York - all echo-laden vocal snippets, organ-driven late night thump and spine-tingling old skool attitude. It's simple but devilishly effective. Native New Yorker Fred P goes for a more chunky deep house vibe on his rework, while veteran NRK boss and Bristol City nut Nick Harris successfully revisits the early 90s on his anthemic alternate version. A pleasing blast from the past.
