Review: Marking the third instalment in their mammoth 21 Again project, German electronica stalwarts Mouse On Mars present another salvo of collaborations that show just how far their tastes and influences reach. There's playful electro with skweee lynchpins Mesak and Claws Cousteau, rapid-fire drum programming with Funkstorung, unhinged synth and squelch weirdness with Matthew Herbert, and folk-infused psychedelia-meets-noise terror with Tyondai Braxton. At every turn the music is loud and leering, overflowing with ideas and production skills that prove Mouse On Mars are coming of age in fine style. If there was any doubt that this pair is a powerhouse in the world of experimental electronics, let this release be a lesson to all.
Review: Long standing hero of the Berlin scene and Stil Vor Talent chief Oliver Koletzki steps up to present a fine collection of remixes for his label's next installment. He's been crafting for prolific friends and outstanding musicians for close to a decade, and for Remix Tales Koletzki has now compiled his personal favourites (with some previously unreleased ones too). Features his emotive take on German duo HVOB's "Dogs", Frank 'Ame' Wiedemann and Ry 'X' Cuming's Howling project on "Stole The Night", through to legends such as French Touch pioneers Cassius on "Toop Toop" and NYC electroclash icons Fischerspooner on "The Best Revenge". Keep your ears peeled for his upcoming full length which will be released very soon.
