Review: He may be a prolific producer, but the standard of Ejeca's releases remains impressively high. His high-quality threshold is clearly apparent on Free From, the Irish producer's latest EP for Kieran Williams' Shall Not Fade imprint. Across the five original cuts showcased on the EP, Ejeca confidently struts between neo-trance/high-octane techno fusion ('Stoke It'), rave-igniting, warehouse-ready stompers ('Faith', 'Free From'), deep and intergalactic electro ('The Basics') and warming, sunrise-ready deep house headiness ('Looksee'). Also worthy of your attention is Cinthie's superb remix of 'Free From', which re-casts it as a late '90s style Chez Damier deep house bumper.

Review: Under the Ejeca alias, Gerry McCartney has regularly delivered retro-futurist singles that draw inspiration from vintage UK house and techno. This album, his full-length debut, takes this approach even further, delivering a non-stop, sweat-soaked journey through brand new rave and UK hardcore-inspired productions recorded in Southend-on-Sea last December. There's much to enjoy throughout, from the almost overwhelmingly loved-up opener, 'Rainfall', and the skittish, US garage-influenced breakbeat hardcore haziness of 'Need You', to the piano-powered happy hardcore hedonism of 'My Love', mind-melting 'Variant' and rushing 'Tell Me'. Also superb is closing cut 'Sunrise', a fittingly titled conclusion tailor made for sound-tracking sun-up moments at remote mountain raves.

Review: Garry McCartney aka Ejeca continues his mission to bring underground house and techno to the big room with this fine four-tracker on Shall Not Fade. While "Lacer" is a driving affair, McCartney goes deeper on "Make Me" and "Walk You Home". Drawing on classic US house influences, the evocative synths and uplifting vocal samples bring a warm, old school flavour to modern dance floors. "Raser" is also based on 90s styles, but on this occasion, it's the deep but high-paced techno of labels like Rotation. Meanwhile on the title track, this red-hot artist mines a more modern tradition. Featuring an upbeat, jacking groove and repetitive samples, it comes across like a more polished version of Technasia's peak-time sound.

Review: Garry McCartney aka Ejeca returns to Last Night on Earth with a hypnotic dance floor EP. The title revolves around a brooding bass and hollowed out kicks, which he uses as a basis for uplifting melodies, tropical forest samples and haunting tribal chants. On "Your Mind", he ups the pace to deliver a pumping club rhythm that resounds to repetitive vocal samples and crisp claps. "Artmeis" sees him veer back towards a tranced out route, led by shimmering synth lines and dubbed out kicks. Finally, "Diskord" sees Ejeca display his techno credentials, with a pumping groove underpinning the kind of churning chord sequences that prevail on classic Force Inc releases.

LNOE 100 honours both the artists and the fans who have made the label an industry leader, with each featured artist selecting others to remix and inspiring new collaborations throughout the compilation. Highlights not limited to: head honcho Sasha's inaugural release "Cut Me Down" reworked by Rekids' Radio Slave into an ethereal epic, Brit electronica hero Max Cooper receives an awesome rendition by the Hotflush affiliated Locked Groove on "Careless" (feat Get People) while ascendant Bristolian Dubspeeka gives his signature moody treatment to Ejeca's "HiRollin". Finally, label newcomer Baile channels the the vibe of legends Boards Of Canada on his mesmerising rework of GHEIST'S "Somerset".

Review: Ireland's Ejeca returns after some killer releases on Aus, Bpitch Control and 2020 Vision with this new one for Sasha's Last Night on Earth entitled Dizorn EP. The title track is a dark and brooding effort which packs in a nasty stomp beneath its seething 'Reese' style hoover leads and wonky synth stabs. "Tajmahal" is a more restrained and atmospheric cut with its sonar bleep techno style melody and minimal rhythms creating a sense of suspense and tension throughout. Netherlands based young gun Budakid also gets onboard to deliver a remix of said track which takes it down a much more progressive house style vibe and with even more elaborate production values: very impressed by this one.

Review: Fast-rising Belfast producer Garry McCartney aka Ejeca delivers a killer release for Ellen Allien's label. McCartney's skill lies in drawing on established house tropes and putting his own spin on it. "Charger" sounds like a textbook deep house tune, with its flowing chords and insistent groove, but then it veers off course with a series of blaring sirens. "Bound To The Pump" is in a similar vein, but on this occasion, Ejeca utilises firing percussion and insistent vocal snatches to stand out from the slew of samey deep house. Meanwhile, "4Mula" and "Swey" sees him strip back his sound and focus on swinging, primal rhythms, with the latter impressing most.

Review: Mark Knight's label brings together some of the sounds that were showcased over the course of the ADE. Basement Jaxx kick start the compilation with the stomping disco house of "Never Say Never", while Harry Romero shows that he's not just a US house head. Working with Doorly, he drops "The Truth", a tough techno track, led by heavy claps. The techno influence lingers on Maceo Plex's "Conjure Superstar", which features an unusual combination of rave sirens and sublime, 808 State-style synths. As is the case in the wider electronic world, this reinvention of the past is in abundance on Amsterdam 2014 and apart from Plex's track, the most impressive contribution is Dosem's "Chase the Link", which sounds like a particularly dark version of vintage Lil Louis.

Review: Since launching in 2012, Jaymo and Andy George's Moda Black label - an offshoot of their already successful Moda label - has steadily risen to become one of the most well-regarded house labels around. The imprint's style - a tactile, atmospheric blend of tech-house, deep house, bass and woozy, funk-fuelled big room grooves - seems to have a knack of capturing the zeitgeist. Here, the two label owners deliver the third instalment in their annual mix series, showcasing tracks released by the imprint in the last 12 months. Smooth, accessible and entertaining, with plenty of standout cuts (see the warehouse acid of Sidney Charles' "Wax Digger '88" and Hauswerks & Saul Summers' sweaty "Just Want U"), Moda Black Volume III is a fitting celebration of a label whose stock continues to rise.

Review: Belfast's Gerry McCartney enjoyed a productive 2013, delivering a slew of hyped house releases on Loft Records, 2020 Vision, W&O Street Tracks and Delayed Audio. Here he pops up on the similarly well-regarded Moda Black, delivering a pair of certified late night bangers. "What You Think" combines bold, bumpin' beats with swirling sampled strings, choice vocal samples and just the subtlest hint of disco flavour. Arguably even stronger is "Alone", a thick, murky but rush-inducing trip into late '80s, early '90s territory - think "Good Life" meets New York basement house, circa 1992, and you're close. David Jach remixes "Alone", turning the original into a swinging chunk of late night bass-house goodness.

Review: How many long-running compilation series are still going in this day and age? Ok, well respected ones then. Sean Brosnan's Future Disco series has always delivered the goods and can always be used as a benchmark for where the nu-disco world is at any one time. This time, it's (perhaps unsurprisingly) all about the vintage house vibes so not so disco then, but still a thrilling listen. Highlights include the slinky DJ T-esque "You're The One", the ever-brilliant DJ Koze's remix of hot newcomers Mount Kimble and the deeply enchanting Axel Boman remix of "Naughty".

Review: Loft have scored somewhat of a coup here with this split EP capturing two acclaimed talents on the cusp of great things. Garry "Ejeca" McCartney specialises in complex lushly textured production that is aimed for both the feet and the heart, and "Rosario" with it's deep house groove, beautiful strings and layers of classy musicality does both with ease. Citizen tends to go for a combination of smoky, velveteen late night sexiness and upbeat house. On the sexy, moody and dark "U Give Me Love" we get exactly that. Both Mic Newman and Nicolas deliver solid, if more straightforward, remixes.

Here, he follows acclaimed outings on Tusk Wax, Needwant, Aus and Last Night On Earth with a typically entertaining EP for 2020 Vision. Choose between the classic, shimmering deep house-meets-90s New York house flex of "Jump" (complete with delicious synth-strings), the saucer-eyed warm-up fodder of "Purnsley", the simmering late night delight of "Home" (a suitably relaxed but still floor-friendly concoction), and the standout "Agent of the Deep". All are up to his usual high standards and come blessed with just the right balance between floor-friendly bump and headphone-friendly atmosphere.
