Review: Ekman aka Roel Dijcks follows up 2015's Aphasia on Trilogy Tapes with an EP that boasts varying degrees of acid madness. While the Dutch producer's focus on earlier releases had seen him fuse industrial and techno influences with acid, Onomatomania is really all about the 303. It starts with the distorted tweaks of "Onomatomania 1", before Ekman retraces his steps back to electro to deliver the second instalment. However, he smothers the rolling drums and snares in layer upon layer of acid. By the time he reaches the third instalment, Dijcks has ventured farther in the realms of distortion, but to close out the release, the fourth "Onomatomania", with its spiralling acid lines, gives vintage Hardfloor a run for their money.
