Review: Next up on Skream's imprint Of Unsound Mind is this stomping split release. The Melody's Enemy remix of Eli Brown's "Tech This Out" straddles a fine line between tough techno and dubstep, but it also makes nod to the brashness of original hard house. Combined with a rave riff-led build up, it makes for an unusual dance floor track. Meanwhile, Brown returns the favour by delivering a version of Melody's Enemy's "Dead 2nite". Like "Tech", it also features a repetitive, looped vocal at the centre of a building, stomping techno track that is peppered with cheeky rave samples. It's exactly the type of track you could imagine the label owner playing.

Review: Skream's Of Unsound Mind returns with Bristolian newcomer Eli Brown who on "Way Of The Underground" creates a surefire dancefloor bomb mixing modern and retro elements alike, then serves up a rolling, peak time tech house groove with diva vocals that will appeal to fans of labels like Lost or Guuv on "Can You Feel It". Final offering "Play Rough" really goes for the jugular on this stomping, hi-octane techno thriller with furious drums and nefarious elements that could appeal to even Berlin's underground.

Review: Eli Brown has rapidly established himself as an artist of real distinction in the house world, with Of Unsound Mind, ViVA, Toolroom and more all recognising his worth. The Bristolian serves up the riveting peak time stomp of "Wait No More" here, which is another release on Lee Foss' Repopulate Mars which is sure to tear up dancefloors on The White Isle this summer. Second thriller "Misbehave" channels the spirit of early '90s Eurohouse with its huge synth melodies and cheeky rap vocals.

Review: Lee Foss' intention is to Repopulate Mars: ambitious as that is, we're pretty sure he'd turn in a good effort to Repopulate Miami this year - with this bunch of tech house heroes. 2018's fun in the sun is soundtracked by the likes of Bristol's Eli Brown on the tough rolling main room groove of "Cartegena", Verona's Federico Ambrosi with the bumpin' bass driven funk attack "Egypt" and rising UK star Dale Howard (Elrow/Toolroom) with his jacking and adrenalised dancefloor drama as heard on "Naughty Organ". Elsewhere, Malaga's Javi Lopez turns in a fine effort following up releases on top labels like and VIVa Music on the grinding pre-peak time people mover "Vibes Up".

Review: The latest chapter in Lee Foss' new label sees him showcase some fast rising talent. DeMarzo's "Dance Naked" is a busy, rolling house track, populated with dark rave riffs, mysterious vocal samples and rolling snares. Next up is Raffa FL's "Loco", which ups the tempo to the sound of a rolling groove and a snaking bass. Once again though, the arranging is complex and a 'loco' vocal sample and tropical musical elements unfold over the tribal, drum-heavy groove. Mirko Di Florio's "Say What" marks a return to a more conventional house sound, but clearly this is a release focused on experimentation, as the hoover bass and chopped up vocals of Pirupa's "Last Minute" demonstrates.

Review: Having released on Alan Fitzpatrick's We Are The Brave, Eli Brown now turns his attention to this three-tracker for Trick. The title track revolves around pounding, concrete weight kicks, which provide the basis for looped rave stabs and deft, filtered builds. "Welcome to My House" sees Brown take inspiration from grainy Berghain techno, as menacing chords and a ponderous vocal sample swoop in over a booming rhythm and razor-sharp percussive licks. "Don't Think Much" is different again: powered by a pulsating groove and a gurgling acid line, it also features a series of snare-led crescendos and a mesmerising vocal contribution from Talk Show that will push the track to a mainstream audience.
