Review: Danish producer Emil Germ describes his music as 'snotty pop'. From the description, you'd expect the tracks contained within this expansive debut set to be stroppy, downbeat and sulky, but in fact it's something of a cheery, near Balearic delight. Smothered in the kind of tactile synths that heighten the senses, glistening guitar solos, tumbling melodies and eyes closed, boy/girl vocals, Adult Party is an impressive and very listenable debut. Highlights are pleasingly plentiful, from the title track's tear-jerking chords, violins and guitars, to the shimmering positivity of closer "Standing By Your Side".
