Euphonique

Releasing rave-ready beats on some of the most respected labels in her field – Hospital Records, Born On Road, Ruffneck Ting, Jungle Cakes and Dread Recording – Euphonique’s high energy, system-shaking signature has been a key part of the D&B landscape since she first emerged in 2008.

Her style has led to frequent support and exposure across the board ever since with heavy plays on key stations such as Radio 1, 1Xtra and Radio 1 Dance; multiple award nominations at the We Love Jungle Awards and Skiddle DJ awards; collaborations with likes of Bou, Selecta J-Man, Gray, Redders, Aries, DJ Hybrid and Kelvin 373; a string of digital number 1s with her solo releases and performances at many iconic and renowned events and venues around the world.

Glastonbury to Boomtown, Loves Saves The Day to Hospitality On The Beach, Rumble In The Jungle to Fabric and far beyond, across Europe and South East Asia; Euphonique has taken her art around the world and across the airwaves. Broadcasting since '09, she got her first show on FM at 19 on Unity Radio 92.8FM, she’s a regular on the likes of Rinse, Bloc2Bloc, Rood FM and DnB Radio and currently hosts a show with Bristol jungle pioneer Dazee on SWU.FM.

A music teacher, performance mentor and lyric writer, Euphonique is motivated by empowering the next generation of artists and is a proud product of the UK free party movement’s positive DIY ethos. Driven by community and championing equality and representation across the scene, she is referenced by many as a key inspiration and mentor for young artists breaking into electronic music.

Euphonique's brand Subwoofah was a significant Manchester hub as one of the city’s most consistent and popular D&B events (between 2010 – 2014), a thriving studio community (2017-19) where many of the scene’s leading lights would stream and record and many of the new generation would come to learn and a record label (since 2013), responsible for breaking new talent such as Epicentre, Sl8r, Motiv and K-Jah with a string of chart topping release and D&B number 1s.

Now based in Bristol, Euphonique continues to not only smash out sets at some of the best festivals and club brands throughout the UK and abroad, but continues to produce consistent quality music with some of her "Deepest and most authentic work to date" (Ray Keith) due out this year on some of the scenes biggest labels

Euphonique & Kelvin 373 - "Hot Spliff" (original mix) - (5:04) 180 BPM
Review: Oh gosh! Every Welcome To The Jungle collection is a big deal but this latest edition from Euphonique and Dazee is a whole other rain forest. 96 tracks and a mix that weighs in over two hours, this is the sound of two of the most foremost and inspiring Bristol-based DJs going IN in every single direction. Loaded with a great range of classics, exclusives and left-of-centre vibes, highlights across this massive collection include Aries and Euphonique's massive 'Amen', Dazee & Jinx's 'Shake It Up', Sweetpea and Chickaboo's 'The Jump Off' and the recent skat-dancing fire-up 'Skip De Du Dat'. And that's not scratching the surface. This is an epic collection. Essential.

Seven Songs EP
Dreams (feat Kate Norris) - (4:48) 180 BPM
Review: The one and only Euphonique makes her debut on Dubplate Dread with this humungous EP - 'Seven Songs'. Ranging from her darkest to her most emotional dispatches to date, the EP is deadly mission statement. Cuts like 'Dem Bad' (with Killamanjaro) and 'Dun Know' hit hard with the tension and thunderous basslines while 'Amen' (with Aries) takes us back to Euphonique's junglistic roots with some brilliant drum funk. Meanwhile on the flip we have the beautiful and touching cuts like 'Cry' and 'Without You' where you can feel the sentiment and feeling burning from every element. Easily one of Euphonique's biggest EPs to date, do not sleep on this!

Jungle Wars: Episode VI - Return Of The Junglist LP (Mixed By Mrs Magoo)
Mrs Magoo / Various
16AJ - "Listen Keenly" - (5:44) 180 BPM
Andrey HOT - "Take A Break" - (5:29) 180 BPM
Review: War! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing... Except the outstanding Jungle Wars concept from DJ Hybrid's Deep In The Jungle camp. Nothing but pure fire from across the board as each artist works hard to bring their heaviest cuts and sharpest breaks to the ring. Mixed up by Mrs Magoo (who also collaborates on the track 'Big Bout Ya') the whole vibe and energy of this collection hits harder than 100 Fantazias. Highlights include Conrad Subs' super-ravey 'Wildstyle', Euphonique's 'No Problem', ODF's piano-slapping 'Good Times' and Plasmator's lesson in ruffness 'Bad Boy Sound'. Show us your war face!

No Escape
Euphonique & MC Frost - "No Escape" - (4:37) 180 BPM Hot
Review: Murky Digital are a label who do what their name might suggest in that they release digital murkiness on a regular basis. No Escape is an EP from Euphonique that brings together MC Frost, Guzi & Madrush MC and Saxxon, all of whom have helped contribute to dastardly naughty tracks. 'Switch' is up there with the best of them and it's all about that bassline, an almost foghorn of groaning, fiery proportions which rattles its way through the arrangement. MC Frost also impresses on 'No Escape, a sub-heavy roller which will please the more minimalistic heads amongst you. Banging stuff.

Benny Page, Dope Ammo & DJ Hybrid Presents: Welcome To The Jungle
Various
Euphonique - "Junglist Style" (feat Killamanjaro - original mix) - (5:25) 180 BPM
Review: Following the likes of Ray Keith, Nicky Blackmarket, General Levy and many artists of high don calibre, Dope Ammo and DJ Hybrid are the next to take the controls as Jungle Cakes' Welcome To The Jungle series. As always, the selection digs deep across the board to include classics, absolute bangers that have been criminally forgotten and no less than 10 exclusives made strictly for this album. From the sun-kissed soul and key-tickling evangelist jam "Salvation" to the absolute rave carnage of "What's Going Down", the boys have gone in on this collection maintaining its still spotless reputation as one of the most consistent and prolific mix series available in the genre. Pay close attention to the Jukebox Jungle track, too. This needs your loving.

Review: Deep in the Jungle know how to do jungle. The clue is in the name, really, and they're proving it again with this huge compilation of 40 huge jungle anthems from some of the best rising stars of the breaksy side of the scene. RMS, SL8R and DJ Hybrid all make an appearance, as do Kumarachi, Veak, Schematic and Epicentre. This is a very strong roster and its reflected in the tunes, with Schematic and RMS teaming up on 'Take It' to combine roughshod, vibrant breaks and moody atmospherics in glorious fashion. Check this one.

Junglist Style (feat Killamanjaro) - (5:25) 180 BPM
Review: BANG! Rising artists take note... This is exactly how you should end your best year to date: with a five track stack of proper jungle ruffage. Coming courtesy of DJ Hybrid's Deep In The Jungle, Subwoofah boss woman Euphonique delivers fire on fire on fire we're bashed and bumped from ragamuffin pillar to amen post. Every track slams your soul but essential brock outs include the jellied bass wobbles on "Get Busy", Killamanjaro's commanding dancehall vocals on "Junglist Style" and her thunderous shredder collaboration with the boss man DJ Hybrid on "Oi". Pure arson...

Jungle Wars: Episode III (Revenge Of The Bass)
Euphonique & Kelvin 373 - "Hot Spliff" - (5:04) 180 BPM
Review: Let us see your war face!! Just in case the "Ravey Misbehavey" collection on his Audio Addict imprint wasn't enough this week, DJ Hybrid has also blessed us with this killer "Jungle Wars" series edition. As always the vibes are high with each track rolling like a 10-strong trip to Holland. Highlights include the dancehall damage of Euphonique & Kelvin 373's sticky icky "Hot Spliff", Veak's rusty break gut-puncher "Nuff Respect" and the classic rave stabs and thundering drum work on DJ Hybrid's "Stand Up".
