Review: 5 Years shows that this label's remit has been wider than most. While there are a number of drummy, toolish tracks on offer - the most notable being the dense tribal drums, disco filters and 'no way to me' vocal sample of Stu Patrics' 'The Girl Next Floor' - the most rewarding tracks are those that divert from the dominant script. Dzeta N'Basile & Spieltape take inspiration from the time-stretched basslines of 2-step for "Know You", while Dirty Culture's "As I Walk" is a killer deep house jam, replete with soulful vocals and fluttering, jazzy piano keys. However, the real highlight is the deep, breezy techno of Elzy's "Kuntao".
