Review: Fabio Santanna is a respected scene veteran in his native Brazil, even if he's yet to make that much impact internationally. That may change with the release of this new long-player, though, as he demonstrates an impeccable way with a variety of musical styles on an album that spans Balearica/downtempo/chill-out, Latin/lounge/pop, jazz-funk and house/disco. Highlights for this reviewer include 'Alem Do Horizonte' with its housed-up, Sunburst Band-like take on jazz-funk, the slightly more uptempo 'Fim De Tarde', and 'Curticao', which is precisely the kind of track that hazy, blissed-out afternoons sipping cocktails by the pool were made for. But it's all good, and the album as a whole makes for very pleasant listening.
