Review: Good 4 Nothing remains good for everything as they catapult themselves into 2023 with pure dubplate intention, teasing us with brand new heat from across their family of artists. 14 cuts in total, each one tickling a different underbelly of the D&B psyche, highlights range from Filthy Habits' loose-limbed grizzly opener 'In The Dark' to the final battle charge reese bass of Phadix's closing 'Forest Calls'. In between we have startling savage moments such as Fanatics' horn-melting wonky-leg 'Bebop', early 2000s flavoured riff gold on Breakbout's 'Over And Out' and pure wobble science on Lundy's 'Ride With Me'. And that's just the tip of this mighty iceberg.

Review: From the holy to the moly with all levels of WTF and crikey along the way; Gradient have just levelled up with this turbo-charged VA that celebrates how exciting the new generation of drum & bass is right now. So many talents, not enough time or space to list; just press play, dig deep and you'll find untold bangers for days. From Harley D to Warhead to Amplify via Nick The Lot, Jenks, Scurrow, Flint, Fanatics and the bossman Metal Work, this is a huge collection that's right on the cutting edge of the club D&B sound. Fusing elements of jump-up, tech and good old fashioned dancefloor bangers, these are the sturdiest foundations from which future careers will be built on.

Review: Previously spotted on Gradient collaborating with the co-bossman Amplify, plus recent releases on the likes of Dub Damage, OYO, Good4Nothing and Subwave this year, Fanatics steps up once again with one of his biggest EPs so far. Six tracks deep, 'Turn That Heat' showcases the Belgian's widest range. Highlights include the Need For Mirrors-style 'Emphysema', the gutter-bound wobbles and trippy gurgles of 'Scattering' and the sensual finger-clicking jazziness of the title track. Hot... And that's only half of what's cooking here. Get fanatical about Fanatics today.

Review: 12 years and 50 releases deep, Kre & Friskie's Dub Damage mark the big five-oh with a series of preposterously heavy work-outs from their nearest and dearest. Always at the cutting edge of the dancefloor and jump-up sounds, this collection is no exception as we're bombarded by ruffage and damagement; the savage drum rolls and venomous riff on 'Mob Tactics VIP', Dreadnaught's thundering basses and breezy breakdown on 'Brickz Inna Mixer', OMT's sharp, snappy and intoxicating 'Krokodile' and Sola & Jfal's warped and wonderful 'Final Curtain' are just some of the heaving highlights. Life begins at 50...

Review: As if firing out badness galore through their 'Connected' series wasn't quite enough action for a label that's barely been around 6 months, Amplify and Metal Work's Gradient levels up again with the massive 'Foundations' VA that's stacked to the top shelf with some of drum & bass music's finest upstarts and high risers. 15 tracks deep, highlights come in all shapes and sizes including the sensual textures and tones of D-Fuser's 'Sticky Situations', the madcap jazzy springs and splutters of Fanatics' 'Everyday', KL's revved up staccato sizzler 'Plain To See', Metal Work's rather glacial 'Cold As Ice' and Parallel's early D-Minds style 'Capital Crimes'. Killer through and through, 'Foundations' as strong as this are built to last.

Carousel (feat Fanatics) - (4:01) 175 BPM
Got You (feat Master Error) - (4:23) 175 BPM
Review: The Next Gen Audio team are definitely an imprint with a knack for sniffing out powerful new releases, which is exactly what they have found here with this spicy new selection from Amplify. Kicking off with 'Human', we can tell we are in for a high energy ride as sizzling synth pulses lead the way atop clean breaks, before 'Seduction' sends us a little more leftfield with some unusual bass processing that just seems to work. Next, Fanatics join the party for 'Carousel', a super gnarly exploration of high ended bass stabs and choppy drum manoeuvres before 'Got You', alongside Master Error gives us a classic jump up outro, again pushing some super colourful bass designs for forward for a hell of a splash.

Fanatics - "Wounds" - (4:34) 175 BPM
Review: The so-far-unmissable releases of Amplify & Metalwork's Gradient imprint continue into the new year with this gunslinging danger doublet. Amplify takes the lead with his first appearance on the label - the roughhouse gritty funk of 'Bank'. Meanwhile Fanatics gets us all grizzled out with the savage sounding 'Wounds'. Proper bare naked bassline business with some very interesting trippy sounds woven into the mix, like the rest of his peers on Gradient, Fanatics is developing a unique and exciting sound. Get connected.

Review: Bulletproof are doing us all a favour with this release, simply because it's such a good collection of rolling and chopped up beats. Bulletproof FC is a vibes-heavy, breaksy release that doesn't take many prisoners. There's a whole load of artists on this particular squad and their respective talents move from grinding jump up to bumping minimality, with Elsy blending those two sonic palettes effectively on 'Feel For You'. There is industrial jump-up on 'Elephant March', as well as an especially big cut on 'On My Back', as well as other flavours mixed in. Wicked.

Luminoth - (4:23) 58 BPM
Review: Walking Dead Recordings are a regular here on Juno and for good reason, their proclivity for steadily releasing rough but energetic, whole-hearted cuts is strong and their small size doesn't prevent the release of top-quality music. 'Luminoth' is the strongest on the release, with a Dispatch-esque feel to its cracking percussion and a torn, broken back end that rips across the range with style. The flip-side goes down a techier, more futuristic route with a load of power in its deadly synth work - one for the dancefloor. Mad one.

Review: Cre8 Dnb Music are one of the most prolific jump-up labels around. We regularly feature their releases and they almost always smash it out of the park, this time being no different. Fanatics' Wizards is a fiery EP that epitomizes the type of jump-up, but also slightly different flavours as well, that, in more ways than one, has defined D&B over the past couple of years - no-nonsense, uncompromising and proudly nonchalant about what you think. It's just pure attitude, dancefloor- based music at its best and music that simply does what it wants, there's no pretentiousness or image-orientated concerns - it's just D&B. Big, big tunes and we especially like track one, the title track, for its almost neurofunk approach to clunky stabs and rippling basses. Awesome.

Review: Bagged & Tagged are a regular here on Juno and for good reason, their proclivity for steadily releasing rough but energetic, whole-hearted cuts is strong and their small size doesn't prevent the release of top-quality music. They've roped in the Belgian crew for this one and 'Market' is the strongest on the release, with a Low Down Deep-esque feel to its cracking percussion and a torn, broken back end that rips across the range with style. The other 3 cuts go down a similar, wicked jump-up route and, if you like B&T, this is the release for you.

Review: Belgium's Fanatics makes his debut on Macky's Down 2 Earth and the results are every bit as outer planetary as the title suggests. Grotty, alien, toxic and gravity defying: "Stygian" flips between high voltage bassline sizzles and high frequency riffery, "Holocron" shows us Fanatics' much darker, grumpier side with some precision-chiselled snares slapping you raw, "Lycanthropy" is the bulldozer of the set thanks to its elephantine bass grunts while "Stellar Orb" pings us up beyond the heavens before plunging us back down to earth with a barking bassline. Fantastic Fanatics.

Review: With this release, Walking Dead Recordings have decided to represent the younger generation of jump-up producers, the hungry kids that are pushing the limits of how nuts jump-up can get before we all suffer immediate cardiac arrest. Label boss Eazy's contribution has that deeply satisfying, grating feeling to it that's reminiscent of a Bou tune, that feeling of frequencies just being pushed to their absolute limit. This is a common factor across the other three as well, in particular Premium's cut which, with glitching complexity, fills that gnarly niche of Belgian jump-up badness. Big EP.

Review: Cre8ers gonna Cre8: Blackley rallies up the new-gen troops for another batten hatching riot of riff blazing jump up stampers from allies old and new. Label regulars Ironlung and Danger kick off with "Unknown Object", a high frequency squeezer that wheezes with potent levels of toxicity. What follows is a slew of flabby bassline KO sessions. Highlights include Jack The Ripper's darkside stampage on with "Serious" (a track that certainly lives up to its name) Magenta's funky squelches on "Run It", Zeba's sprightly staccato funk on "Party People" and Yoteii's tightly coiled spring viber "Acid Roller". But the true gem of the set has to be "Freedom" by Fanatics. Horny, funky and loaded with wry humour, file under 'switch flipper'. Yes m8s.

Review: This is a big release, both literally and metaphorically. Sitting at 58 tracks, it's clear that the Dub Damage crew wanted to pack as many of their best moments as they possible could into the album. If you're a jump-up fan, think of this as a bit like the holy grail of jump-up and the inclusion of remixes and originals from dons like Original Sin, Annix, Turno and Sub Zero cement that fact. Aside from those legends, DJ Alpha comes through with 'The Man With The Golden Gun', a riotous blend of punched out bass synths, whilst Kre & Basshoven low-key steal the show with 'Toronto Blue'. A fat album this, and a lesson in how to do compilations right.

Review: Belgian badmen Fanatics make their debut on Dub Damage and you'd be wise to pay attention. "Cloud Nine" is a little more stripped-back to their usual full-flavoured affairs but their well-tamed lasers are kept in check over a lean tripletty rhythm and some breath-taking graveyard pads. Looking for a little more in-your-face hype? Stick "Mariana" on and watch your whole floor get pulverised by those kicks and groaning bass. Handle with caution.

Review: Belgian badmen Fanatics unleash more data spinning grot on their spiritual home Walking Dead. Four moments of stripped back fire; it's all about the riff and weirdo toxic bass designs from start to finish. "Quasar" will have you jittering in your own sweat, "Blanka" will have you sweating in your own jitter, "Duel" is all about the air-slicing karate moves you'll want to pull every time you hear this while "Bug Lite" pays tribute to a cool combo of techno, frogs and joyous insubordination. Flexing around a cinematic string sample, Fanatics suddenly switches us down infamous rusty laser lane where the bass tasers you with a subverted low, twisted drone. Toronto's Handcutz joins the ruckus on "Auto Dialer" that spikes and slashes with a bassline so Belgian it hurts. Opening your jacksies round the clock, these are the type of fresh, aggressive bangers Good 4 Nothing was invented for.
