Review: To celebrate the 11th anniversary of Cologne party My Dear, its resident DJ Dennis Stockhausen has curated this compilation. It's an impressively diverse selection and ranges in sound from the ambience of Rising Sun's "Give" to leftfield tracks from Samo/Kamo and Fantastic Twins. Stockhausen also has an ear for distinctive dance floor tracks; this is evident from his inclusion of the deep techno of Wassermann's "R?slein Rot" and the wonderfully blurry, frazzled groove of Robag Wruhme's "Orugo Major" as Bogdan Marx. With My Dear rooted in the Kompakt stable it's no surprise that pop influences are never too far away, audible here on the seductive harmonic melodies of J?rgen Paape's "In Time".

Review: Spun Out is a London-based artist booking agency which has been run by Caroline Hayes for over 20 years, that looked after the life and times of the late great Andrew Weatherall alongside his partnership with Sean Johnston under their A Love From Outer Space moniker. More of that Frightful Oompty Boompty Music is a tribute to the 'Guv'nor' which showcases artists from the agency's roster. Timothy J.Fairplay serves up the chugging dark disco of "Reality Rules", Paranoid London deliver some strobed-out and proper old-school techno on "Spinning Out", go deep into the exotic on Mehmet Aslan's hazy "Shizowaves" and feel the neon-lit jack of Fantastic Twins's "Kali's Tongue Was A Weapon".

Review: If only all electronic music had such a sense of purpose. Weaponise is a compilation of contemporary tracks, conceived and curated by Kristina McCormick the host of the NTS radio show Diet Clinic. Like that broadcast outlet, this collection puts a focus on women producers, and it's a stellar affair. There's the slow-motion industrial of artists like Hanna Jones and Fantastic Twins; Maral's "Ey Nezanin" is a wild mix of a club techno and Middle Eastern motifs and C.a.r's "Frau" is an arty, vocal-led take on dance floor electro. Weaponise also features ethereal ambience from Penelope Trappes and Slime's reduced broken beats - if that isn't enough of an incentive, all sales proceeds go to London housing charity Focus E15.

Review: More post punk inspired electronics courtesy of the Optimo Music camp by Fantastic Twins: the project of Julienne Dessagne - who some of you may know as one half of genre-bending outfit Saschienne with husband: the Berlin stalwart Sascha Funke. Following up her impressive debut (The New You EP) on Superpitcher & Rebolledo's Hippie Dance imprint, Dessagne unleashes a full length effort here which spans classical, avant garde and baroque influences while merging with the Cologne style of indie dance sensibilities. She'll help you delve deep into the exotic such as on tracks like "Construire Un Igloo" or "Bataille", then to get weird on the hypnotic "Ivres De Fatigue", while the evocative and bittersweet closer "Tableu Final" is just lovely. All in all a cohesive effort that transcends musical boundaries to interesting effect.

Review: Fantastic Twins is the (not so) new guise of Julienne Dessagne: so yes there's actually only one of them despite the name. However, you may recognise the name as she is one half of Saschienne with Berlin legend Sascha Funke. Slow burning Italo/synthpop-noir of "The New You" first surfaced on the interwebs at the end of 2016 to much fanfare and finally we can thank Rebolledo and Superpitcher for releasing a whole EP's worth of darkly seductive music courtesy of their wicked Hippie Dance imprint. Starting out with the brooding epic "Shake It", there's also the creepy and reductionist groove of "Hey" in addition to the post punk attitude of "Time Science" featuring Dessagne's deadpan vocal delivery which is "tres chic!'

Review: The latest missive from the Pachanga Boys' consistently impressive Hippie Dance label is an expansive affair. It gathers together a quintet of tried-and-tested dancefloor workouts, beginning with the dark and woozy, post-punk house throb of Paulor's "La Race". The Pachanga Boys weigh I with a previously unheard edit of Roman Flugel's wonky, bass-heavy box-jam "Deo", before Julia Dessagne dons the Fantastic Twins alias on the creepy, organ-heavy pulse of "Holiday". Elsewhere, Kaspar Bjork delivers a slick but atmospheric chunk of synth-heavy house ("Choir of Young Ravers"), and Zombies In Miami get all trippy and hypnotic on the mystical house of "Flashback Mantra".
