Review: Having recently popped up on Room Service Recordings alongside Big J, Baltimore-raised Taiwanese American Jialing returns to Clasico alongside Bay Area producer FARSIGHT. Jialing's roots in Baltimore club culture come through loud and clear on 'Whistle Tip', a brilliantly bouncy and percussive slab of energy-packed, sweat-soaked peak-time heat smothered in whistle sounds and echo-laden drum edits. FARSIGHT provides his own high-octane 'flip', raising the tempo to 143 BPM while breaking up the beats and adding a frankly filthy, sub-heavy bassline. Elsewhere, 'Twister' joins the dots between B-More Club, bleep and contemporary UK bass, while 'Slam City' is a twitchy slab of cut-up breakbeat hardcore revivalism.

Review: The Scuffed Recordings crew have a great habit of delivering unprecedented sonic gems, which this latest collection from Farsight most certainly is as we hear a robotic extension of UK funky brought to life. First up, 'El Mago' fuses catchy South American melodies with glitchy, transformer-like synth crunches atop groovy drums and silky basslines for a truly unique roller, before the breaksy rumbles and groovy subs of 'Limbo District' add a whole new direction to the project. Finally, 'Sorted' takes us down a more distorted, jungle-inspired avenue, slapping together metallic bumps and high tempo drums for a swanky closer.

The sheer mass of this collection is one of it's immediate charms as we are gifted over 50 originals and remixes, each one bringing something unique to the table from a supporting cast including the likes of Origin8a & Propa, Benton, MKII, Deekline, Samurai Breaks and more. The constant changes of direction and expansionary sense of sonic inclusion are both big yesses from us, with our favourites including 9Trane's nostalgic bubbler 'Thuggish', next to the housey piano drives of Herve's 'Live Together' and the old school garage flavour of Matt Jam Lamont, Echelon & Tuff Culture, who join focus for 'Massive & Crew'. Tidy work indeed!

Review: For the latest edition of the now infamous Femme Culture compilation, HeForShe get involved with a seriously potent selection of futuristic techno and breaks infused flavour, featuring a vibrant roster of artistry indeed. The names involved include the likes of Bklava, Farsight, Talik, Moktar, Ell Murphy, LUXE, Jennifer Loveless and many more top quality names, all adding something colourful and sonically unique to this very well laden table. Our two highlights actually land directly after each other in the tracklisting, with the bubbling percussive pulses and constantly shifting backdrops of SYZ's 'Purify' leading the way, focussing on some seriously intricate rhythmic design. Breaka then follows this with the super bouncy textures of 'Who's This?', utilizing glittering arpeggios and bulbous bass pushes for a seriously fun time. Excellent work all around on this one, with all profits going straight to UN Women UK.

Meanwhile on the remix flex Luru goes straight-up crazy with his kicks while +/- re-constructs tribal house in a dissonant future context.
