Review: Zurich based DJ and producer Jimi Jules is one of the most promising upcoming artists within the international underground. With previous releases on top labels like Superfriends, Cocoon and local imprint Zukunft - he tops all that by being picked as selector for esteemed Berlin institution Watergate's 24th mix album. Here we get treated to a few exclusives: first we have Jules & Jesaya's +4 BPM Update of Ame's "119 BPM", there's also his collaboration with Domenico Ferrari on the sleazy lo-slung pop of "Parkuhr". Then, we soon discover its almost entirely a Jimi Jules affair (naturlich!) with his remix of Swiss/German duo Egopusher's "Flake" (venturing into truly sublime territory) and the dreamy and bittersweet tones of Ed Ed & Petja Virikko's "Sundroina" (feat Jinadu).

Review: The word 'unique' is grave danger of wheezing its last breath these days. Very few things genuinely are 'one of a kind' Especially in dance music. The crazy Italian kids at Slowild, however, are really unique. Taking hardstyle theory to the glitch and moombhaton audience, they've slowed down one of the scariest forms of music to create something really interesting. At points you'll be reaching for the record player to switch the speed up, before realising it's digital and supposed to sound this way. Oozing drama and imagination, this is the best hardstyle album you will ever hear.
Review: Still relatively new to the label game, Rollover outta Milan, Italy, follow up their Friends Against Coronavirus fundraiser compilation from earlier this year by debuting Ferrari's Nene EP. Packed with a shiney The Juan Maclean remix, Ferrari channels reinforced disco beats alongside melodic synth action, cowbell percussion and western motifs in its title-track. Funky, subdued basslines take over from the bleepy progression and space pongs of "Dopium", with "Talk" the heaviest bassline of them all, given a slightly thinned out mix by New York disco legend The Juan Maclean.
