Review: A reissue here of a cut that first saw the light of day on Peppermint Jam regular Ferry Ultra's debut album way back in 2012. 'Ferry Ultra & The Homeless Funkers' was a star-studded collection that featured collabs with the likes of Gwen McCrae, Byron Stingily, Melva Houston and Roy Ayers, but this 2013 single was graced by the unmistakeable vocal stylings of Freak Power frontman Ashley Slater. Now, 10 years on, it's back with an Extended, Instrumental and Edit trio of beefier, pacier remixes courtesy of San Diego's Never Dull - and sounding more stone-cold, must-have funkalicious than ever.

Review: Mousse T's perennially popular German house label are containing their current compilation release frenzy with this new installment in the series that explores the deeper end of their tastes. Or, to be more specific, the tastes of Deepwerk who selects the album's pleasingly diverse tracklist. It's quite a journey, taking in stoned jazz-hop "Cosmic Surfin", the sublime deep house synth-fest of "Burn Baby Burn", soulful G-Funk (Warren G's "I Need A Light") and even Roachford, who returns from Alan Partridge-aided exile with "Work It Out".

Review: Peppermint Jam have been successfully housing it up for about 20 years now. Lately they've been releasing a slew of compilations and this one explores the deeper end of their output. Despite the specific remit, it still covers a surprising amount of ground: from the haunted urban D&B of "Lay It Down (Triads mix)", funky Latin house "A World Celebration", smooth, luxurious deep house "Look Inside" and super ecstatic jump up party anthem "Check It Out". Looks like 'deep' can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

Review: Ferry Ghods aka Ferry Ultra has been pals with Peppermint boss Mousse T since the 90s. Here they provide some mixes of feelgood soulful house album track "Live My Life". First up Ricky Mattioli & Fred Portelli take us right back to the days of Ultra Nate, while Samir Maslo reminds us of the Brand New Heavies. Elsewhere Lorie goes all moody on us and Soundealers add a disco twist. The standout mix though, is Sahin Meyer Lyons sublime deep and sparse mix, full of textured synth layers that evolve into some pretty badass electro house. Killer.
