Review: Suara serves up an incredible split release on the fourth instalment of The Revisionist. Seminal Belgian act Tomaz vs Filterheadz are up first. Remixing one of the leading acts in the late 90s/early 00s party techno sound is no easy feat, but Coyu rises to the occasion with his rework of the 2001 staple "Los Hijos Del Sol". Maintaining the original version's Latino influences, he adds in a powerful bass and a massive rolling groove. The end result is a track with huge crossover appeal. Coyu also delivers a killer version of Homerun's "Native Bullet" - also from 2001. Led by a pulsating electronic bass and featuring a screeching vocal sample, it's sure to have the same level of appeal as Coyu's take on Tomaz vs Filterheadz.

Review: We're only in August, but on the Orbit compilation, Tronic takes stock of the biggest tracks of the year so far. There's label owner Christian Smith's "The Future Is Ours", an infectious techno roller that unfolds to the sound of pulsating bass and a celebratory vocal sample, while on a deeper tip, Anna Reusch delivers the hypnotic tech-house of "Loose Your Mind". While the compilation features clubby contributions from label regulars like Drunken Kong, there are also some surprises where Tronic ventures into previously uncharted territories, such as Ian O'Donovan's symphonic "Rath Of The Synods" and Hannes Bieger's tripped out remix of Biz' "Psychotropic".

Review: Veteran production pair Filterheadz return to Tronic for this three-track collaboration with Jonathan Estrada aka The Reactivitz. Drawing on Filterheadz' late 90s work for inspiration, the title track is powered by a booming bass and features hardcore-style synths, dubbed out filters and soulful vocal samples. These elements make for an intoxicating combination. "Hexagone" follows a similar trajectory, with a surging acid line fused with powerful sub-bass to create a crafty big-room affair. However, "Pressure" is the most impactful track, with Filterheadz and Estrada coming together to deploy wild Red 2-style chord stabs over a pounding rhythm. It's hard to imagine a better way to round off this energetic techno collaboration.

Review: We all know by now that John Digweeds Bedrock bring the heat to the floor, and over the past year they have been at their very best. This latest release is a real gem with two of our favourite forward thinking producers coming together. Belgian techno don Marco Bailey hot on the heels of his 'High Volume' album, locks horns with fellow countryman Filterheadz for two wicked tech-meets-prog smashers. First up is the dark and twisted 'Mansion' with a throbbing bottom end and eerie fills, while 'Avenue' in perfect contrast is lighter and funkier with a relentless techno rhythm and the Filterheadz trademark tribal vibes flashing through. This is a partnership that most definitely works, more of the same please!

Review: There's no mistaking the sound of Filterheadz, who bring the infectious party vibes with every production, holding onto their unique tribal-tech sound that never fails to rock a crowd. 'The Game' is a return to their very best with its relentless rolling groove, funky chopped up bassline and all-round "fun". As with many of the Filterheadz anthems this will appeal to all styles from house to trance and absolutely everything in-between. Expect the likes of Carl Cox to be dropping this peaktime across the globe.

Review: This compilation shows how the tribal house sound has evolved in recent times. Lutzenkirchen adds some acidic spice and grinding bass to the sound on "Bubblegum", while Razor takes inspiration from Laurent Garnier's "Crispy Bacon" for the pulsing, grinding bass and air raid siren riffs of "Spartaque". There are more typical tribal grooves from Marco Lys, Ant Brooks and Cristian Varela, whose track, "Cockteaser", is based on a surging, powerful bass. However, those who divert from the script impress most - in particular, the trancey synth riffs of Marco Bailey & Tom Hades' "Bonistia" and the upfront acid and vocal samples of Spketre & Tom Laws's "Whores and Hangovers".
