Review: UK label Bear Fresh have carved a niche for themselves by sourcing and releasing some of the cleanest, crispest beats drizzled with '90s retro goodness. Here on Rural Vol 2, their second label compilation, they keep the good times coming. The overall vibe is still sharp, blingy deep house but with lots of twists, including the luxuriantly smooth rhythms of Jaquo George's "Luv Song", the melodic 4 x 4 of Paul Dobson's "In My Heart" and the deep tropical percussion of "Alright" by So Standard. Top notch!

Review: The first release on music collective Mondayjazz's freshly minted label is a collection of fresh rhythmic shapes from a diverse cross section of their associates. Going from the colorful, tropical UKF rhythms of Cream Child's "Yellow Mountains" through the hip-hop squelch of Fulgeance's "Stinky", the frenetic, footwork inspired rhythms of Genys & Piotrus Pan's "Keep It Tight" and the 8-bit dubstep of 96WRLD's "Clark", Workers #1 is a frankly bewildering offering of under the radar talent. Check OL's "On My Mind" for our pick of the bunch - an awesome example of DJ Rashad style juke with a heavy dose of soul.
