Review: Echoes of 80s synth pop and 90s trance inhabit the sound of Glow Ignition, with Kruse and Wassrermann drawing on these influences to soundtrack post-Covid dance floor possibilities. The title track is particularly euphoric, as the duo, whose back catalogue boasts releases on Terminal M and Kompakt, let tantalising synth lines loose over a pulsating bass and irresistible but subtle filtered builds. "The Missing Piece" is somewhat more melancholic thanks to its tranced out hooks and introspective break down, but its slow building drum rolls and purring bass are sure to illicit a euphoric response when the arrangement is unleashed on re-opened dance floors.

Review: Between them, Florian Kruse and Julian Wassermann have released on high-profile labels such as Poker Flat, Stil Vor Talent and Sasha's Last Night On Earth, but Orust is sure to propel them to even greater heights. Issued on Kompakt's sub-label, it features the kind of shiny trance melodies that one comes to expect from releases on Extra. However, what really sets this track apart from others is the throbbing, pulsating groove, white noise builds and doubled-up thunderclaps. When combined, these elements add up to a dance floor killer that is sure to cause mayhem on underground floors and big rooms alike.

Review: With deep house stalwarts Kruse & Nuernberg currently on hiatus, Florian Kruse has been pursuing a techier, more melodic path in his solo productions, with this EP for Sasha's Last Night On Earth label a case in point. Opener 'Zog' has the same deep beats and luxuriant feel you'd expect from a K&N production, but topped with proggy synths that throb away throughout. Julian Wassermann's remix turns the dark up a little, making this the pick for those 4am eyes wide shut moments, while closer 'The Tide Is Turning' again starts with Kruse's deep house roots showing before big, dramatic synths sweep in - perhaps inspiring the EP's title?

Review: Germany's Voltaire Music return with some heavy hitters in techno, tech house, deepness and beyond. While it's mainly a Deutsche affair for the most part, they even managed to rope in Croatian hypnotic techno veteran Petar Dundov - who in conjunction with Systematic's Marc Romboy delivers the spiralling and melodic sorcery of "Caper Tran". Elsewhere, there's some epic dancefloor drama like on Tim Engelhardt's remix of "Florian Kruse & Hendrik Burkhard's "Crack In The Wall" featuring some heartfelt vocals by Mi.li.an. Highly lauded mastering engineer Hannes Bieger delivers the moody and entrancing "Strato" geared for those heads down moments under the strobelight and Frankfurt's finest Sascha Dive - he of Deep Vibes fame - delivers the goods as always on the darkroom dub of "Renegade" (Long version).

Review: NM2 is the sub label of the Danish Noir imprint and is created to bring you special VIP releases and provide some extraordinary weapons for the clubs. They certainly come true on their promise with this collection of surefire DJ tools - highly optimsed for serious dancefloor drama. The tunnelling and evocative atmosphere of "We Own The Night" by Florian Kruse & Hendrik Burkhard is only intensified by John Monkman's remix. This is followed by the esoteric sonic sorcery of veteran Olivier Giacomotto's "A1" which will appeal to the Stil Vor Talent or Einmusika sound. Finally, Israeli duo Jos & Eli are back with some brooding and tripped out progressive house vibes with their killer "Time Chase".

Review: One seriously moody and emotive progressive house offering courtesy of Berlin's Florian Kruse and featuring the velvety voice of Hendrik Burkhard on "The Ground". The remix by Joris Voorn gets even deeper, darker and tripped out for some real early evening dancefloor drama. Second original track "Going Against The Grain" is one perfectly executed journey track of the darker persuasion (wonky melodies assured) whose bittersweet tendencies will pull at the heartstrings as much as it'll move your feet.

Review: The latest release on Poker Flat is from Florian Kruse, a producer who comes from Hamburg, where Steve Bug's label is based. Despite this geographical proximity, "Slow Motion" has universal appeal and is sure to transcend languages and borders. A ponderous, resonating bass provides the backdrop for jittery keys and Hendrik Burkhard's sonorous tones. Kruse manages that rare feat of striking a balance between setting a moody tone and making a beautiful, fragile techno track. "Hold On" is more functional and sees Kruse drop a gradually building, acid-laced techno workout, but for sheer depth of sound and feeling, it can't compare to the title track.
