Review: Next up from Forbidden Society, a monstrous display of high octane synthetic delight as this brand new 'No Return' album drop gives us a sumptuous taste of neurotic mastery. Exploring the most mind-boggling sound design and intricately design drum structures, this whole project is a homage to just how far you can take the D&B sound, opening up with the sizzling yet subtle reeses & metallic drum clunks of 'The Craft', The constantly shifting backdrops and intense flickering percussive rotations of 'Disappointment' also pack a punch, alongside the growling synth drives of 'Dread' and even some 140 flavour across the glitchy landscapes of 'Undark'. This whole project is exceptional, pushing the boundaries between sound and electronics as far as they can go, with our favourites including the liquidized melodic sweeps of 'Still Waters', the manic synthesizer switch ups of 'Mirrors' and of course the grizzly bellows of the title track 'No Return', which unleashes an additionally stunning display of soundscaping. Awesome work!
