Review: The Russell Brothers aka Truss & Tessela keep the fires of their Overmono project burning with a huge session on Fabric Presents mix series. Off the bat you'll find a hyped and unreleased Blawan number in the producer's "Fourth Dimensional" next to a 2005 Vex'd classic "Pop Pop". Overmono exclusives include a super laid back and hopeful "If U Ever" alongside both numbers from their latest Polykicks release - jungle and UKG heads check it out. On the lighter dubbier side of things is a sweet inclusion of Well St artist Robert Fleck, next to some heavier bombs from L.B Dub Corp, Plastikman, Actress and Ed Rush & Optical's "Bacteria". We also recommend Powder's "Lost Of Light" next to DJ Misjah's "Victim" and Equiknoxx's "A Rabbit Spoke To Me When I Woke Up". Best thing since Surgeon's This Is For You Shits.

Review: Legendary German imprint Poker Flat continues into 2021 with the latest in their B Sides compilation series. As it says on the tin, Chapter Six presents the best of their back catalogue between releases numbered 126 to 150 - which were around 2012 - 2013. Starting off with label boss Steve Bug's 'Tell Me Why" taken from his album Noir, Alex Niggemann's expressive piece of mood music entitled 'Tangram" (The Deep End) from back in 2013, the sexy late night shuffle of Mihai Popoviciu's "Here", Carlos Sanchez getting deep down and dirty on the afterhours bounce of "Conclution", Hamburg heroes Kollektiv Turmstrasse lending a typically emotive and bittersweet vibe to their rework of Daniel Dexter's "Birds" and who could forget the low slung swagger of "Facebook" by Diynamic chief HOSH.

Review: The Poker Flat filter sifts through its immense catalogue to pull up a fresh new 'best of' chapter. Tracks come Boris Dlugosch, Marco Resmann and Steve Bug to Vince Watson, TJ Kong and Alex Niggemann all deliver the goods, be burning italo basslines, techier dub techno and 80s synth to percussive melodies and other minimal actions. Simon Garcia goes deeper into tripper arpeggio mode with "Cavern" while the words of Theo Parrish feature in the Juno-106 house sounds of "Lectures". Get some extended minimal players from Mihai Popoviciu in "Call Me", with Detroit and Chichagoan sounds further permeating the compilation in "My Side". Dope.

Review: The Berlin techno collective's house offshoot delivers an intoxicating ode to enjoying life while you can. Over a squeaky, stripped back rhythm and doubled up beats, Foremost Poets urges everyone in the club to let their hair down - 'we ain't going nowhere - I wanna see everybody on the dancefloor' - and to keep the party going for as long as possible. The fact that he does this to the sound of a spiralling acid line makes his request sound even more inviting. Losoul also delivers on his 'Altered Poetry' remix; while not as immediate as the original, his shuffling drums and dark bleeps will convince even the most civilised party-goer to have a late one.

Bot'Ox feat Foremost Poets
Review: Cosmo Vitelli and Julien Briffaz's Bot'ox alias returns with Foremost Poets on mic duties for this commanding slice of indie-disco brilliance. With the French pair showing their love of softly building and romantic house, the pair let the satisfyingly camp vocals drive the tune, with a 128 bpm beat and simple bass and strings backing it up. Getting truly epic though, their 12 minute dub version is simply mind-blowing - using every arrangement trick in the book to keep it thrilling the entire way.
