Review: The Freestylers take things on an old skool jungle tip here on, aptly enough, the Jungle Cakes imprint. "Entertainer" kicks off with a bounce, a wail of reggae-laced vocal, jungle tooting sirens, and sharp, rolling breaks. It swiftly progresses, with a souped up drop, into a classic latterday jungle riddim with low-slung swagger and lush amens. With plenty of attitude, this is a tune which keeps on giving, with samples, switch ups and all the sounds of 90s jungle. Watch out for the Serial Killaz remix as well, which is an essential addition to the package.

Review: Did you come to party? More's the point, did you come to dance? These are the questions MC Alaska asked in 2009 on the Freestylers bouncy dubby original. Whether it's the price of stamps or poor reception, we don't know, but Erb n Dub has only just replied with an emphatic YES. That's a heaving, sweaty, dubstep flavoured yes by the way. All spiky and full of electro pace, Erb's delay in response is made up for with sheer audio power. Tomb Crew and Pimpsoul have also answered Alaska's call to action with equally positive responses. The former go for an Afro-style drum swing and loony bass riff while the latter jacks things down into nu-funk territory. Exceedingly checkworthy.

Review: It seems to have been a long time coming, but the Freestylers have finally launched their new 'Other Worlds' album project, delivering 14 drum and bass & breaks inspired originals, exploring the full spectrum of their sound in style. The beauty of this project from the off is the variation in sound we are able to enjoy, from the slower, more original hardcore flavours of 'My Sound' featuring a killer lead vocal from MC Spyda, to the original junglist drum switches of 'Reality Check' with Tenor Fly. The range is pretty crazy, with no drops in quality, especially alongside a top quality list of collaborators including Blapps Posse & Laura Streel, Scarlett Quinn, Hyperactive MC and more. We would of course suggest taking this one in on long play, but if you are looking for a couple of quick highlights, 'Puffin Da Herb' alongside Mad Doctor X gives us a more expansive look into the musical influences of the Freestylers sound, with 'Rebel Lion' giving us that festival-opener feel, alongside the incredible vocal toasting of K-OSS.

Review: Blimey here's a super-collabo if ever we've seen one! Russian breaks queen Lady Waks teams up with two of the busiest and most prolific bass acts in the game; Deekline and Freestylers. And that's before we even get to the vocal titans causing absolute murderation with the bars. Instantly recognisable, juicy and party-primed, "Junglist Warrior" has every act's signature stamped all over it and will absolutely crush any dance its faced with. So will "Conquered" as it takes us on a slightly deeper flex with some delicious honeyed vocals warming us up for another bumping bassline hook. Heavy.

Review: Breakbeat scientists the Freestylers team up with Wizard for this excellent release on their own self-titled imprint. First up is "Mount Zion" which gets things off to a rambunctious start with a series of synth squelches, bass kicks and smacking snares, quickly interrupted by a chanting vocal and dubstep blares, burps and bassline badness. Cheeky, chirpy and fun, this is a great one to add to the collection. Next is "Sunblast" with its progressive old skool rave chords, uplifting synths and grinding bass, it encapsulates the sound of now very nicely.
