Review: Serbian producer Frikardo has never been particularly prolific - he's released just a handful of singles and EPs since 2015 - but what he does put out is usually rather good. Significantly, his dusty, jazzy, sample-rich deep house sound is a perfect fit for Iner's on-form DOBRO label. There's much to admire on Frikardo's first full DOBRO outing, from the woozy horn loops, head-nodding house beats and metronomic bass of 'Everyday', the the Revenge/Tiger & Woods-ish slow AOR disco-house chug of 'Doin' Right', and the superbly swelling deep house dancefloor soundscape that is 'Shadows of Smile'. Best of all, though, is the deliciously detailed, sun-soaked jazz-house excellence of opener 'Kolekshon'.
