Review: G Dub badboys Sub Zero and Original Sin link up once again for these two crucial joints on Crucast. 'Haunted' is tripped-out glitchy, weirdo funk-up with disjointed spoken vocals and interesting bass textures while 'Killa Sound Boy' sees them linking up with the inimitable Trigga for a proper tear-your-head-off mash-up. Tapping back into their classic penchant for nagging, infectious bass riffs, this one is a timeless rinse-out. Essential.
Review: They're back! Following a year or so of bookings, Sub Zero and Original Sin's legendary partnership Generation Dub comes correct with two massive back-breaking productions. "Back In Business" says it all. Having been on dubplate with only these guys and Hype to play for several years, its wily riff and chop-burning bass are now available for all of us and the world is better place. "Ya Tink Ya Bad", one of their most revolutionary cuts from 2005, also gets a muscular G Dub 2017 reboot. Massive in every direction.
Review: Pascal and Hype's Playaz label storms into the digital world with their fourth instalment of their Playaz Digital selection. Taking it back to the mid noughties with iconic Taxman cut "Too Bad" and seminal G Dub classic "Tink Ya Bad", before accelerating through some influential moments in Playaz history from the core crew - Hazard, Original Sin and Taxman - it's brock out business all the way with rollicking basslines and grizzled synths. Along the journey of rowdy jump up and wobble-tastic party bangers, we have old favourites like "Selector" and "Scan Darker" before moving into more recent territory with "Harry's Revenge" and "Bubbles". Big, bad and heavy.
